Outfit: Shoeper Challenge 2013/14 Save 71 | Monday Pants

I saved a pair of shoes yesterday. It’s been a couple of weeks but I’m getting there. The list of pairs still to be saved is dwindling. These shoes are rather special as they were my bridesmaid shoes when my sister got married, back in 2006. They were languishing in their box at the back of my closet for many years, not getting worn because I find the heel too low for them to be dressy. If I had my time again I would choose a higher heel. I wore them yesterday as I have a blister on my heel and the straps on these neatly missed it making them really comfy to wear.

I love these striped pants and someone yesterday said to me that I was wearing my Monday trousers on the wrong day. Apparently I often wear these on a Monday. So there you have it: Monday pants on a Tuesday.

Black top – Tall Girls (eBay)
Grey and cream stripe pants – Forever 21
Red satin shoes – Pink (bridal shop)

Office Chantelle

I was back to work today but only for a week, and then I have another week off! Can’t be bad – you’ve got to love all the bank holidays we get in the UK in the spring!

I went for a navy blue and white/cream print look today – stripes, spots and leopard print. I topped it off (or bottomed it out?) with my favourite shoes which I just got reheeled last week. They were worn right down to the metal tips.

This Week...

Way, way back (many centuries ago) I used to have a regular (ish) feature about things I had been enjoying that week.  This had a couple of incarnations - the Things I'm... Loving/Not Loving column, and the Thursday Latelies feature.  I'm rehashing the feature again and hope to feature one item each week that I have been enjoying.  I will try to make this a weekly feature but I make no promises that that will actually happen!

So, this week, the ModiFace Hair Colour app. Upload a photo to the app, outline your hair and then change the colour to see what you'd look like as a blonde, brunette or redhead.  I had a play about with it and created a little collage (using the Photo Grid app, which I also find very useful).

Which hair colour do you think suits me best?

Outfit: Casual Friday

Esprit Lexa Wedge Trainers

Friday dawned wet and grey and, despite it being April 25th and therefore Light Jacket Day (name that movie!), I needed my faux leather jacket and a scarf. We had a leisurely start then headed into town for a wander round the shops.

I plumped for my wedge trainers as they are warmer and drier than ballet flats.

Black faux leather jacket - Topshop Tall
Jeans - Long Tall Sally
Cream and grey stripe sweater - H&M
Burgundy and black scarf - River Island (sale)
Silver hoops - gifted
Burgundy wedge trainers - Esprit (c/o Sarenza)

Georgia Rose silver flats

Wednesday morning was bright and sunny and I had a hair appointment to sort out my roots at last. I managed to bag a complete bargain – a cut and colour for a very reasonable price as I was done by one of the trainee girls. It did mean that I spent the whole morning in the hair salon though as she wasn’t as speedy as my usual hairdresser would have been, but I’m not complaining.

In the afternoon I did the grocery shopping and then chilled out at home. We have the whole week off work which is awesome.

I am aware I am pretty much living in these jeans this week, but they're just so comfy. I love the slouchy fit and I love the distressing on them. I took a tip from Cori and put some patches of denim underneath the knee distressing to stop it from tearing further. So far so good, it seems to be working.

Jeans – H&M (gifted)
Green and white stripe top – Forever 21
Silver leather flats – Georgia Rose (c/o Sarenza)
Silver glitter belt – local boutique

Georgia Rose silver flats

A belated Happy Easter to you all! I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend. We have had friends to stay since Thursday evening so it’s been a bit hectic. We’ve had meals out and seen friends and played in Roundhay Park and climbed two of the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

21-04-14c

The peak climbing was on Saturday – we did Whernside and Ingleborough and couldn’t have asked for better weather (other than the strong winds at the top of the hills but then we were rather high up).

Today our friends went home so we’ve been tidying up the house and chilling out a bit. It was lovely and warm and sunny until about 4.30pm when the rain started.

Navy top – Long Tall Sally (eBay)
Jeans – Esprit (c/o Spartoo)
Silver flats – Georgia Rose (c/o Sarenza)

Outfit: Day Out

16-04-14b

LTS navy dot flats

Yesterday my sister and I headed off to Harrogate for a day out to celebrate my birthday, and lunch in Bettys tearooms. You can see the blue sky in the close-up photo, and it was beautifully warm and sunny all day.

16-04-14c

I wore skinny jeans so I could put my wellies on over them for walking around the RHS gardens in the morning and wore flats to be comfortable for the rest of the day. The shoes were appropriately a birthday present from my sister a couple of years ago. The jeans are the ones I mentioned last week that were purchased with a gift voucher kindly supplied by Spartoo. They are by Esprit, which is not a brand of jeans I’ve owned before but I’m really pleased with them. They fit well and seem very long in the leg (they’re marked 34” leg but I’m sure they’re a bit longer than that).

16-04-14d

In the evening I went out for tea at the local Wetherspoon’s pub with some of the drama group.

Navy jacket – Warehouse (sale)
Green and navy stripe top – H&M
Navy tank – River Island
Jeans – Esprit (c/o Spartoo)
Navy and white spot flats – Long Tall Sally (gifted)

Silver hoops – gifted
Sunglasses – Boots (with half price voucher)

NL navy flats

As I mentioned yesterday, yesterday was my birthday. Working on your birthday totally sucks but I have tomorrow off instead so that will make up for it.

I wore a cute little dress with flats and tights as the wind on Sunday was cold so I wasn’t sure how warm the spring sunshine would really be. I didn’t add a belt as I needed room for cake!

14-04-14d

Now that we’re getting some better (dry) weather I can start saving some of my fabric flats. This pair is from New Look and were bought for about £10 a few summers back.

Burgundy dress – New Look Tall
Navy cardi – Next Tall
Navy tights – New Look?
Navy flats – New Look
Silver necklace – New Look (sale)

Yesterday was really sunny but also really windy. I headed over to see my little sister and we went out for dinner at a local pub. In the afternoon we went to see our parents and played football in the garden with my niece.

Outfit: Distressed Denim and My Favourite Flats

11-04-14

11-04-14f

Jones Bootmaker red suede flats

These jeans are another item I pulled out of storage last weekend. I put them away in the autumn because my left knee tends to get chilly when I’m wearing them. I didn’t intend for them to be ripped jeans really – when I bought them they had what Long Tall Sally described as a small amount of distressing on the knee. Well that became a big rip the first time I wore them. I don’t mind though, distressed jeans are the thing this summer.

11-04-14d

The top was purchased with a voucher kindly gifted to me by the lovely people at Spartoo. Back when I used to write regularly for them they only sold shoes and bags, but now they stock quite a wide range of clothing too. This top is by Best Mountain which is a French brand that I hadn’t heard of before. I love the slouchy fit and the studs which are stuck on. The sleeves are about long enough (good considering it’s a non-tall item) and the hem is slightly longer at the back which is not a style I have worn before but I really like it. I also got some jeans with my voucher; those are yet to make their debut on the blog or indeed on my body!

11-04-14e

Finally my red suede flats. I’ve been in heels all week this week, and in the evenings too with being at the theatre for the show, so I decided to give my feet a rest today. These are comfy, pointed and in a lovely soft suede. They are so comfy that they are the flat shoes I pick out most often (as long as it’s dry outside).

Have a great weekend everyone!
