Outfit: Denim on Monday
It can be nice to keep things casual after the weekend. A shirt is the perfect way to incorporate a little denim into your working wardrobe without looking too casual for Monday morning.
On another note, how is it October tomorrow? Does anyone else find that September whizzes by superfast each year?

This Week...
My favourite variety of apples is the Worcester. This is a shame as Worcester apples only have a really short season in September. And for the very short time that they are in season, the only place you seem to be able to buy them is Sainsbury’s. Consequently I don’t eat them a lot (I have to go out of my way to get to a Sainsbury’s store) but I usually manage to get hold of a bag or two whilst I can and this year was no different. I’ve been enjoying Worcester apples for the past couple of weeks.

Outfit: Burgundy and Boots
The forecast for Thursday wasn’t great so I thought I’d grab the opportunity to wear some ankle boots. My longing for wearing boots hasn’t been that strong yet this year, and I’ve really been enjoying the warm September weather. However, it’s nice to wear boots sometimes even if it is really still too warm for knee high ones.
Burgundy is such a fall colour and I am absolutely loving it. These pants are from a couple of years back but I’m glad to be able to bring them out time and time again.

Outfit: Navy and Green
Happy Wednesday y’all! Halfway through the week, halfway left to go.
This is actually my outfit from yesterday. I won an Amazon voucher at work a couple of weeks ago and did you know that Amazon now sell shoes and clothes? They sell pretty much everything really. I got these green jeans with part of my voucher. The pictures here don’t do the colour justice; they’re brighter in real life. I figured they could be a good autumn/winter alternative to my mint pair. They are by the brand Only and the length is pretty good for my long legs.

Outfit: Shorts
I like the idea of a playsuit in theory. However, in practice I suspect they would not be a good idea – for me at least. My longer-than-average torso means I struggle to find tops that are long enough, never mind and all-in-one garment. Assuming I could find a playsuit that fit, what about the practical aspect of using the bathroom? You have to pretty much get naked in order to go. When I think about it, the thing I like about the playsuit is wearing shorts. And well, I can achieve that by just, you know, wearing shorts. Paired with a top in the same colour you get the idea of a playsuit, but without all the impracticalities of actually wearing one.
All this waffle is to say that on Sunday, I wore shorts. With tights. I still think it’s too early for black tights with dresses, but 15°C is too chilly for shorts and bare legs so the tights came out. I went to church in the morning and in the afternoon headed into the city for a wander round.
Friday night I used my Remington Spin Curl hairdryer to make my hair wavy. This is a gadget I’ve had for several years now (and I got it on eBay for the bargain price of £10) and I get it out periodically. I had it in my head that it takes a long time to use, but as I’ve recently been blow drying and straightening my hair in the evening (to save time in the morning) it really didn’t take any longer than that to use. I put the Treseme 7 day keratin product in my hair before drying it, in the hope that the waves would hold better. And they lasted better than they usually would I think. In fact, I think they looked better on Sunday than they did on Saturday. All I did was spray the spins with gel spray on Friday night, then finger combed them through to separate them on Saturday morning. Saturday night I put my hair in a ponytail on top of my head and then finger combed again Sunday morning.

This Week..
.
This week I’ve been listening to the Little Shop of Horrors soundtrack. Today is what I always deem Little Shop of Horrors day. It’s 21st September and if you know the play (not the film, the film says 23rd) you know it starts ‘On the 21st day in the month of September...’. If you don’t know the play (or the film), watch the film. Steve Martin as a psychopathic dentist, a singing plant and awesome music - what’s not to love?
Little Shop was the school play when I was in the third form and my friends and I were obsessed with it for the rest of our high school careers. We would quote it at every opportunity and the chorus group that was formed for the show became a spin off choir in its own right, called The Horrors. We rehearsed on a Friday dinner time and sang all kinds of music from West End show tunes to Christmas carols. Even now when I hear the words 'feed me' my instinct is to reply 'does it have to be human? Does it have to be mine? Where am I s'posed to get it?'. And I'm sure all of my high school friends and would say the same.
Happy Little Shop Day!

Outfit: Waistcoat
I haven’t worn a waistcoat in ages. We’re talking years, here. I can’t remember the last time I wore one. At one point, several years ago, they were an absolute staple of my wardrobe. Now though, not so much. Fortunately I had the good sense to hang on to two during previous wardrobe culls, and last night I looked at them and decided it was high time to pull one out again.
As much as I love jackets and blazers for smartening up an outfit, I sometimes feel like the sleeves are restricting my arm movements. With a waistcoat you get all the smart and none of the restricted movement. Win-win.

Outfit: Winter of Wedges
How’s your week going? Mine seems to be going fairly quickly and I can’t believe it’s almost the weekend again already!
This was Wednesday’s outfit and thanks to the ridiculousness that is the car park surface at the new office, I predict that this year is going to be a winter of wedges. Observe:
Yes. Quite. That surface is not conducive to walking in heels and staying upright, as someone from another department found to her cost last year when she fell and injured her face quite badly. It’s not so bad whilst it’s daylight in the mornings, but in the dark it will be lethal. I start work at 7.30am each morning (to miss the worst of the traffic on my commute) and I’m travelling in daylight at the moment but I can feel the mornings getting darker even though it’s only mid-September.
The other thing I need to talk about today is my hair. You see the right hand side of it on the close-up picture above? That’s the length (or perhaps a fraction longer) I’m thinking of going next. What do you think, should I do it?

Outfit: The First Tights
Monday the forecast was for rain all day so it seemed like a good time to pull out some thicker tights and to wear boots. In the event I managed to dodge the rain but I think I would have been chilly with bare legs or thin tights.
This outfit was a really easy one to put on – dress, tights, boots, statement necklace: done.

Outfit: Leopard and Stripes
Another casual Friday outfit folks. These jeans. What can I say? I love them. The denim is so soft and they have just about the perfect amount of distressing. Put them with heels and they can be glammed up a little. Put them with flats and they’re just comfy. And they were a birthday present back in April so I didn’t even pay for them.
Stripes and leopard print are always good on their own, but mixing them together makes them even better if you ask me. Did you all have a great weekend?
