Day 27

The second day of my weekend away, this was great in the rain. I subbed out the denim jacket that was suggested for a cardigan as it was easier to pack!

PMT Challenge - Days 22-26 Catch Up

So things got a bit manic towards the end of April and I didn't have time for full outfit posts.

But here's a quick round up of the last outfits in the PMT Challenge. I'll split it into a few parts to keep the posts from being too long.

Day 22

I wasn't sure about this outfit, but I went ahead with it anyway.

Outfit: April 16th – PMT Challenge Day 15

Another day, another sub on the challenge. This time it was the grey cardi in place of an oatmeal one as I thought it went better, and it is a lighter knit. Spring has FINALLY arrived in the Frozen North and so there was no need for a chunky knit (for once!). I also swapped out my nude flat (which I only just wore on Saturday) and matched my green flats to the earrings I got for my birthday.

Outfit: April 5th – PMT Challenge Day 4

I think this is my favourite combination of the challenge so far! I wasn’t sure that the narrow sleeves of my denim jacket would work over the floaty sleeves of this top, but the top is so lightweight that it isn’t a problem. The prompt for today was actually cinnamon jeans, but I don’t have any of those and wasn’t about to go a buy a pair, so I am subbing in burgundy each time the cinnamon ones come up and I think it’ll work fine. The mustard top felt very ‘spring’ on a lovely sunny day.

Outfit: March 28th – Mustard Florals

Since joining the PMT challenge I have been inspired to try things I wouldn’t have thought about before. Mustard is not a colour I would usually choose, but it’s bright enough for spring yet muted enough that it will work in the autumn too. I can see it over a black polo neck come fall. Meanwhile, the print has enough colours in it to make it versatile and remixable (totally not a word, but I’m claiming it as my own neologism) for spring and summer. I am LOVING it with the bright blue for instance, and would have totally worn the same shoes as two days ago were it not for the weather forecast promising rain for later in the day.

Outfit: Shirt and Jeans

I don’t own many items featuring a vertical stripe, but this is one of the few I do own. Vertical stripes pair just as well with denim as horizontal ones do and a button down is an easy way to smarten up an outfit with jeans. As are heels and wedge heels with an ankle strap are the comfiest kind.

Outfit of the Day

We have this week off work and have been day tripping all over the place. Today was a drive through North Yorkshire, stopping off at various places. Today’s outfit is typical of the week, just jeans, a long sleeve top and some flat shoes. Oh, and sunglasses: spring seems to have finally arrived in the Frozen North!

How’s your week going? Mine seems to be going fairly quickly and I can’t believe it’s almost the weekend again already!

This was Wednesday’s outfit and thanks to the ridiculousness that is the car park surface at the new office, I predict that this year is going to be a winter of wedges. Observe:

Yes. Quite. That surface is not conducive to walking in heels and staying upright, as someone from another department found to her cost last year when she fell and injured her face quite badly. It’s not so bad whilst it’s daylight in the mornings, but in the dark it will be lethal. I start work at 7.30am each morning (to miss the worst of the traffic on my commute) and I’m travelling in daylight at the moment but I can feel the mornings getting darker even though it’s only mid-September.

The other thing I need to talk about today is my hair. You see the right hand side of it on the close-up picture above? That’s the length (or perhaps a fraction longer) I’m thinking of going next. What do you think, should I do it?

Outfit: Shoeper Challenge 2013/14 Save 63 | Unexpected Yellow

Unusually for me, my shoes were the last thing I picked out for this outfit. The idea of putting navy shoes with it bored me so I went for something completely unexpected: yellow. These shoes were a £6 bargain from Priceless several years ago now. The strap and the wedge make them fairly comfortable to wear and you just never know when you will want to wear yellow shoes.

So it looks like spring has finally sprung in the Frozen North. After the lovely weekend we had the forecast for the week ahead is for sunshine and mild temperatures. Woo hoo!

Outfit: Stripes, Stripes and Spots!

It was snowing again when I got up this morning. Awesome. I think I am pretty much past caring now. I put on my spring-like (but warm) outfit that I had laid out and just got on with it.

Last night we went for a meal at our local pub with the young man’s parents, as a belated Mothers’ Day treat. The food was fabulous (it always is) and we went back to their house afterwards for a cup of tea.
