PMT Challenge - Days 27-31 Catch Up

Here's the second installment of my PMT outfit round up posts!

Day 27

The second day of my weekend away, this was great in the rain. I subbed out the denim jacket that was suggested for a cardigan as it was easier to pack!

PMT Challenge - Days 22-26 Catch Up

So things got a bit manic towards the end of April and I didn't have time for full outfit posts.

But here's a quick round up of the last outfits in the PMT Challenge. I'll split it into a few parts to keep the posts from being too long.

Day 22

I wasn't sure about this outfit, but I went ahead with it anyway.

23-04-18c

Cardi - Boohoo
Shirt - TM Lewin (via charity shop)
Pants - F+F at Tesco
Shoes - George at Asda (via charity shop)
Earrings - Nickel and Suede

Day 23

Day 23 I skipped, as I was sick. There might be a do-over at the end of the challenge!

Day 24

Back on it with a colourful spring outfit.

25-04-18

Cardi - Next Tall (via eBay)
Top - Boohoo Tall
Skirt - Long Tall Sally (via eBay)
Shoes - Kaleidoscope
Earrings - Nickel and Suede

Day 25

Another one I wasn't sure about. I think it's this cardigan. I prefer it over a dress.

26-04-18

Cardi - Boohoo
Top - New Look Tall (via eBay)
Pants - Primark
Shoes - TK Maxx
Earrings - Ziggy of Clevedon
Necklace - Primark (via charity shop)

Day 26

This was the perfect outfit for heading off for a weekend away with my friend S.

Blazer - c/o TM Lewin
Top - TK Maxx
Jeans - Esprit (via Tall Girlls)
Shoes - Next
Earrings - Nickel and Suede

Another day, another sub on the challenge. This time it was the grey cardi in place of an oatmeal one as I thought it went better, and it is a lighter knit. Spring has FINALLY arrived in the Frozen North and so there was no need for a chunky knit (for once!). I also swapped out my nude flat (which I only just wore on Saturday) and matched my green flats to the earrings I got for my birthday.

I always love an outfit that includes this jacket. I’m not sure I would put my brogues with these pants again, but the morning I wore this it was too wet for flats and the pants are slightly too cropped for ankle boots. I could have worn tall boots but this is supposed to be a spring challenge, you know? Anyhow, an outfit that combined burgundy and army green was good for me as I would never have put those two shades together myself.

And can you spot my favourite shop?! :)

Since joining the PMT challenge I have been inspired to try things I wouldn’t have thought about before. Mustard is not a colour I would usually choose, but it’s bright enough for spring yet muted enough that it will work in the autumn too. I can see it over a black polo neck come fall. Meanwhile, the print has enough colours in it to make it versatile and remixable (totally not a word, but I’m claiming it as my own neologism) for spring and summer. I am LOVING it with the bright blue for instance, and would have totally worn the same shoes as two days ago were it not for the weather forecast promising rain for later in the day.

I am doing the Putting Me Together spring challenge (read all about it here!) and although it doesn’t officially start until April 2nd, there are a bunch of bonus outfits in the guide that I am having fun trying out in advance. This is one of them! The challenge will be good for me in encouraging me to put items together that I wouldn’t necessarily have thought to pair up, and to push me a little out of my comfort zone when it comes to trying new things. Take this top for example. I probably wouldn’t have picked it out myself but it’s similar to one used in the challenge and I needed something to fit the description of that item. Turns out I actually really like it, and it goes with lots of items already in my closet because of the colours in the print – black, white, blue, burgundy, pink.

This is an outfit that I carried over from last week. I had been intending to wear it on Thursday last week, but on waking up to falling snow it had to be shelved in favour of something a little more weather appropriate. I was making the most of a couple of spring-like days this week, sandwiched between Monday’s torrential rain and the impending doom of further snow that was forecast for the weekend. Yay.

The bright orange and glimpse of ankle certainly made this outfit feel like spring, but the high vamp of the shoes kept my feet warm and I could still put my winter coat over the blazer to ward off the chill. One day it will be spring. Perhaps.

I think I spoke too soon in my previous post about spring. The day after that post, it hammered it down all day. I hate the British weather sometimes. These pants were not the right thing to be wearing in the rain either, but at least the pleather trainers are waterproof so my feet stayed dry.

This was the first morning in a week that we woke up to no new snow. Not only that but much of the snow that had been laying for the whole week was gone. That meant I could finally retire my EMU boots and wellies back to the closet and wear the trainers and smart trousers combo I had been thinking about since the previous Monday. I was tempted to just repeat the whole outfit with just a change of footwear, but the lure of the cashmere was strong given that my garden pond was still frozen over so it obviously wasn’t much warmer outside. I definitely wanted to wear this shirt again though, so just layered it underneath the sweater.
