This sweater may be mostly purple, but it goes with a ton of colours due to the print. The khaki green of my trousers is included, as is the lilac of the scarf. The scarf was doing double duty as an accessory and keeping my front warm! The sweater is 30% wool on the back and sleeves which is quite cosy, but the front is a thin, satiny fabric which provides no warmth at all. They could have done with making a fully knitted sweater and then attaching the front panel, for nesh girls like me! Come spring though the sweater is fine as it is, but you don’t always want to ‘save’ particular items for certain times of year.

Clarks Bizzy Girl black suede ankle boots

Florals for fall isn’t the most obvious choice, but when the colour pallet is a dark one I think it can work really well. I’m not sure whether this sweater was part of an A/W collection, or a S/S one (but I’m inclined to think it was the A/W one, or at least pre-fall perhaps). It isn’t supposed to have ¾ length sleeves but when you have limbs as long as mine you have to embrace the ¾ length and just work with it.

My pictures were taken in rather a hurry this day. Between prepping lunches (which I usually do the night before to be fair, but we were out), adding the meat to the slow cooker (which I then forgot to turn on…) and hanging out a load of washing, there wasn’t much time left for blog photos! And that’s why they’re a little on the wonk. Oh, and luckily I can go home at lunchtime and the slow cooker has a high setting so all was not lost.

If you are looking for a pair of heeled ankle boots that are super comfy, then try Clarks. I think this pair may be past season but I wouldn’t hesitate to try Clarks again in the future. I had to size down to a 7 (41) with these (I’m usually a 42 or an 8) so that’s something to consider with this brand. I can happily walk around in these all day and that includes walking to work and back.

It was back to work on January 4th and happy Monday to me! The weather was finally playing ball and actually being cold and January-like so my OTK boots weren’t overkill. I even wore my new waterproof padded coat to keep me warm and dry (because of course the forecast was for rain as well as cold).

This was Monday’s outfit when the forecast (and indeed the actual weather) was rain. Tights dry much faster than jeans if you get caught in a downpour and that might be the factor that most influences my return to skirts/dresses and tights this autumn (which I feel sure is going to happen).

Outfit: Bootcut or Boyfriend?

04-09-15d

04-09-15b

04-09-15

I don’t have any true bootcut jeans in my closet that are short enough to wear with flats. This pair my look bootcut but technically it’s a boyfriend fit (well that’s what it says in the waistband anyway). I sized down for a tighter fit and consequently they look more like a bootcut. Which is fine in theory, but unless I’m sticking to Weight Watchers they can be a bit snug! But the good news is that the weight I’m at presently makes them a perfect fit so I pulled them out to wear today as an alternative to my beloved skinnies.

Priceless Purple Flats

I won’t be giving up skinny jeans anytime soon, but it’s nice to mix things up sometimes so I can see this pair being on rotation in my autumn outfits for sure.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I was working from home on Wednesday so that gave me a little more time to get outside in the sun and take some proper photos for the first time in a long time. It was a glorious day and I took full advantage by taking a lovely walk at lunch time. I layered a couple of tank tops, both super old, for a bright look to match the sunshine.

Next Black

It’s usually cold come Halloween, but this year’s unseasonably warm autumn means that today is much warmer than it should be this time of year. So much so that I’ve switched out my usual knitted black dress that has been the anchor of my witch costume in previous years and replaced it with a lighter, shorter sleeved dress. I told you on Wednesday that I am obsessed with this dress!

Of course I had to keep the striped socks and the hat that means I can’t get through doorways as I’m too tall. Happy Halloween y’all!

Priceless lilac-pink

Happy Monday y’all! Did everyone have a good weekend? This is my outfit from Friday, which of course involved jeans. There’s no point having casual Friday and not wearing jeans.

I just went for a simple jeans and sweater combo this past Friday – it’s comfy, functional and easy. The details such as the floral front on the sweater and the cute purple boots helped to amp up the look a little.
