Review: Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara
I was looking for a new mascara a couple of months ago and I thought I'd try the Big Eyes one by Maybelline. I've long been a fan of The Falsies that Maybelline make so I knew I liked their mascaras.
Big Eyes has a double ended wand - there's a little mini brush for your tiny lower lashes and a regular size brush for your upper lashes. When I'm applying make up without my glasses on (but also without my contact lenses, so I can't really see what I'm doing) I find the smaller the mascara brush the better, so that was one of the reasons I chose this one.
The mascara is great: it doesn't clump and I find a coating on both sets of lashes with the mini brush, then a layer on my upper lashes with the larger brush provides just the right amount of build up.
I would definitely recommend giving this one a go if you're in the market for a new mascara, and selected Maybelline products are currently on buy one, get one half price at Boots.

Outfit: April 19th - Birthday Dress, Birthday Shoes
I had some birthday money and this dress was one of the things I got with it. It's from the Tall range at Dorothy Perkins, a range I had discounted for many years because a) they don't stock it in stores so I tend to forget it exists and b) when I do remember it exists I find it's consists of black trousers, jeans and not much else. However, this season they have some pretty awesome dresses and I ordered this one and a striped one. The sleeves (that you can't see here, it's not that warm yet) are around elbow length and I love the knot detail at the front, which gives a very flattering fit.
The shoes were a birthday present from my sister about 4 years ago.

Outfit: April 18th - Slouchy Sweater
It turned cold again over the weekend of 16-17th April (things are getting confusing now I'm so far behind posting my outfits. But it's working for me as I know I don't have to try to snap pictures each day and I always have content scheduled ahead so I can just blog when I have the time) so this slouchy sweater was perfect. It's from Primark and was a birthday present from my lovely little sister. I paired it with skinny jeans and ankle boots.
I love the zip down the back because, you know, I'm obsessed with zips! They have a similar sweater at Primark which has zips at the bottom in the front and I really liked that one too, but the zips felt a bit rough on the inside and I thought they might snag on what ever I was wearing on my legs.

Outfit: April 13th - Sunny Wednesday
April 13th was a beautifully sunny Wednesday. I think Converse pumps are a very spring/summer footwear due to the canvas fabric they're made from (though my sister wears her black ones all year round) so I was excited to pull my blue pair out that day. I was also excited that I just needed a jacket over my long sleeve top when I went outside, and not a sweater, scarf or any other layers that have been necessary lately.

Outfit: April 7th - Burgundy and Black
The weather turned cold again towards the end of last week and I was chilly even in these layers. It's the story of my life being chilly though, so I'm used to it by now. Apparently I was giving Long Tall Sally some love that day. It's bound to happen now and then as quite a percentage of my wardrobe is LTS.

Outfit: April 5th - Spring Stripes
You know that I like a good stripe at any time of year, but I think there is something particularly spring-like about these green ones. Green is not a colour I wear a lot, but for some reason I am more drawn to it in the spring than at any other time of year. I wore trainers on Tuesday April 5th because I took my niece out for a walk and they seemed like a good footwear option. They are also spring-like, with their lovely turquoise colour.

Outfit: March 29th – Cozy Cashmere and a Spring Scarf
The Easter weekend was fairly spring-like, up until Easter Monday when we had biting winds and heavy rain. Easter Tuesday was a mix of sunshine, snow showers, hail and heavy rain. Fun. A cozy cashmere sweater was definitely the way forward, with a light pastel coloured scarf as a nod to the fact that post-Easter = spring. Or at least it should.
Oh, and this is what happens to my hair if I put mousse in it and sleep on it wet.
