Outfit: October 24th – Big Sweater, Stretchy Pants and Hair Extensions
So apparently I can’t get enough of the cosy sweater/stretchy pants outfit formula right now. This past weekend I lived in legging jeans and oversized sweaters. And scarves. It’s chilly outside now. I almost went for the tan ankle boots again but then opted for these heeled booties at the last minute to dress up the outfit a little bit and to have a change from the tan boots. I’ve been cold more times this past week than I am happy with, hence why I’ve skipped straight on to the cosy sweaters.
I think I have finally figured out the key to wearing my hair wavy. Extensions. But only two small pieces at the front, one at either side. The front section of my hair is quite short still, so to put any curl or wave in it I have to start fairly high up to get enough length to wrap around the wand. However, that means my curls then start TOO high up my head for my liking. By adding a longer extension piece just above my ears, I suddenly have enough length at the front to work with. Obviously I sometimes add pieces at the back of my head too, for a little more length and thickness, but I don’t find it as comfortable to wear the larger pieces of hair all day, whereas the small ones don’t bother me at all.

Outfit: October 21st – Oversize Stripes and Chelsea Boots (And It’s All Primark!)
I just can stop with these boots. They’re comfy, they go with EVERYTHING and they keep my feet warm and dry. I’m not sure what else you could ask for from a pair of footwear really.
And yes, the oversize stripe sweater is back in rotation (it was my favourite thing this past spring you may remember). A comfy, cosy, casual Friday outfit. I was in a really good mood that morning too. Bucks Fizz the previous night were awesome, and no support act which always pleases me as I feel like I’ve got my money’s worth if the act you’ve paid to see does the whole show. My company was hosting a 25th anniversary party that evening and it was Friday. The best day of the week.

Outfit: October 20th – Bucks Fizz!
I almost packed this top away when I switched out my seasonal clothes a few weeks back, because the fabric is quite thin and it’s not very warm. However, it was saved on the basis that army green is a very autumnal colour and that the top has room for layers underneath. Just as well I did save it, as it came into its own last Thursday.
This was my (rather poor) attempt at a work-to-play outfit. I think these things are easier in the summer! I was meeting my sister in Leeds after work to have some tea and then see three of the original four members of Bucks Fizz perform at the City Varieties. Theatres can sometimes get hot so I wanted a nice top that I could remove a layer from, and I wore shoes rather than boots. Layering up my outerwear (a boucle jacket and massive scarf) kept out the autumn chill.

Outfit: October 19th - Black on Black
I’m finding myself drawn towards all black (or at least very neutral) outfits at the moment. I’m not sure why, I think it might be that the temperatures are dropping and black just feels good right now. I did add my massive snuggly burgundy plaid scarf over this (though it wasn’t actually that cold and I didn’t really need it) so there was some colour, but I also added my tan faux leather jacket so more neutrals right there.
Talking of neutrals, if you’re looking for some tan ankle or Chelsea boots, and you’re on a budget then get yourself to Primark because this pair is only £10 and is super comfy.

Outfit: October 18th – Inspiration From the Ironing Pile
This skirt was on my ironing pile last weekend and it was right next to a pale blue shirt belonging to the young man. Seeing the two colours paired together was a combination I loved. If I thought I could pinch the exact shirt and get away with it I would have done (never mind that it would have been far too big for me!) but this chambray/denim shirt is the closest thing I have in my wardrobe so it has had to do.
I almost wore my tan ankle boots again with this, but they made the outfit look a bit casual so I went for the smarter option of black knee boots. These are the Clarks Bizzy Girl style and apparently they are a dupe for the Stuart Weitzman flat OTK boots. That’s not why I got them though, I just liked them, and they are super comfy as they are by Clarks.

Outfit: October 17th – Muted Colours and Chelsea Boots
No one likes a Monday morning, me included. I am increasingly drawn towards comfy and cosy outfits on Monday mornings. It’s like I need a day to get myself going before I get my outfit game on properly. Stretchy pants and a cosy sweater make it almost seem like you’re still in in pyjamas. Almost. Add some accessories and lipstick and no one will ever know you’re secretly still in your jammies.
My hair is second day waves - all I did when I got up is finger comb my hair through and leave it to do its thing.

Outfit: October 16th - Church and Bowling
Last Sunday I went to church in the morning and then headed off to meet my sister, niece and a friend for lunch and to take my niece on her first bowling trip. She loved it! She had a good go at lifting the bowling balls (she's 4 years old!) and she did manage to throw a 6lb ball, but she did much better when she used a heavier ball and pushed it off that metal ramp thing they have for kids. We weren't trying to let her win and she managed to come second of her own accord and wants to go back and play again.
These pictures were taken when I got home at tea time, so if I look a little dishevelled, that's why! I curled my hair in the morning and it held up pretty well I think.
