The friends’ little boy is 2 today and there was a bit of a party and a BBQ for him yesterday. His present from his parents was a trampoline to share with his sister, and as you can see, the grown ups had just as much fun on it as the children.

Outfit: Day Out

We went to the seaside today! We headed off to Whitby this morning. The sun shone and the sky was blue and although it was pretty windy, it was a lovely day. We had a walk on the beach and around the town, watched the tide come in and had some lunch in a little bar/restaurant we discovered last time we were there. On the way home we stopped off for some tea at a pub in the middle of nowhere on the North Yorkshire Moors. The food there is excellent so it is very popular, despite its remote location.

I started out in my fab white ASOS sunglasses, but the young man made such a fuss about how much he hated them that I went into Superdrug and bought a new pair. Pictures of those to come next time I wear them.

Outfit: Wednesday Evening

So it’s off to rehearsal again this evening. It was cold in the hall last week so I’ve changed into a warmer cardi and added a scarf. The sun put in a brief appearance whilst we ate tea so I optimistically snapped myself in sunglasses – but I am fairly sure I am not going to need them as it is getting darker outside by the minute.

Pink scarf – eBay

Outfit: Wednesday

I put this on this morning, and then as I was checking my emails the young man suggested a trip to York. Unsure whether it was going to rain or not, I changed into flared jeans and my cowboy boots, just in case. In the event it stayed dry and we had a lovely day strolling around the shops and on the city walls.

The young man and I have the week off work this week. It is raining again today – typical. I walked to the village this morning to go to the Post Office, and this afternoon I caught up with some TV. It is lovely just having a break from work and not having to get up early.

Outfit: May Day Bank Holiday

It’s a bank holiday Monday here in the UK so of course it’s cold, overcast, and was raining this morning. The young man has just turned on the heating.

We walked down to our local Tesco this morning as the young man needed a new shirt and some t shirts.

We have my parents coming for tea this afternoon.

Refashioning Project

Remember how I said this dress wasn’t really working for me as a dress and I was thinking of cutting it off into a skirt? Well, I finally got around to doing it last week and the skirt part is now a high waisted denim pencil skirt with wide belt loops. I’ll wear it once I am back at work next week so no pictures of that for now. I had a vague notion that I would do something with the top part too – turn it into a cropped jacket or shrug, and I am rather pleased with the results:

Outfit: Purple & Cream Sunday

Unusually for me, I started with the belt when planning this outfit. It was a birthday gift from my friend C and I had yet to wear it since receiving it last Friday. It is rather fabulous and deserves to be shown off, rather than just function to hold up my jeans and be hidden away. I went to church this morning and helped with the Sunday school, then headed to Tesco on the way home.

This afternoon is sunny so I will be out in the garden shortly.

Outfit: Saturday Shopping

I went into the city with my sister today. It was sunny on and off so that meant I got to wear my funky new sunglasses that arrived yesterday from ASOS. It was also the first outing for this white cardi which I bought on eBay last year. I must have got it fairly well into the autumn as it went straight into the cupboard in the spare room where I keep my off-season clothes. I dug out my summer things this week and remembered that some stitching was needed around the neck of this cardi. I fixed it up and it was ready to wear today.

Outfit: Pink & Blue

I love to wear blue and I love to wear pink, but I usually think of the two colours as mutually exclusive. However, inspired by the way Londyn mixed the two colours last week, I decided to create an outfit that included both pink and blue. And I love it! It’s bright and spring-like and hopefully the sun will come out later on so I can add my sunglasses.

I went to Dorothy Perkins on the way home and scored some better than half price jewellery. The ring was £2.50 (was £5) and the necklace and earrings were £2.50 (were £9) for the set.
