Outfit: November 25th
Orange and brown is not a colour combination I would have worn before I got this sweater, but it works perfectly for autumn. Orange isn’t really a hue I wore at all before I got this jacket but the jacket has ended up getting a lot of use in the two or so years I’ve had it.

Winter arrived in the Frozen North over the weekend. Friday night we had a covering of snow (which was all but gone by the morning, but still). Saturday and Sunday mornings were cold, with sub-zero temperatures and Monday morning there was a frost. Fortunately I was working from home so was spared having to scrape my car.
I wore this sweater all weekend as it is 80% wool and very cosy. And on Saturday the EMU boots came out. The danger in putting these boots on is that you won’t want to take them off again until about March, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take for warm feet.

I love me a good knit dress and this one is a fine knit but super cosy becaust it’s 75% wool. I love me a wool knit too. I always think the soles on these boots are thicker (and therefore more comfortable) than they are. I love the faux fur and button details but I always end up with sore feet when wearing them.

I am aware that this is the same sweater and boots as in my last outfit post. But truth be known, come winter (which it almost is) I tend to live in this sweater and its black twin. And these boots are one of my favourite pairs. They are so comfy (check out that wedge – it’s made of rubber so the cushioning is awesome), they are so cosy (fleecy lining anyone?) and they are actually knee high on me. Which is a rare thing when you are this tall, trust me.

Friday the Thirteenth was wet, windy and cold. We caught the tail end of storm Abigail that hit the west of Scotland I think. So a cosy sweater and fleecy lined boots were perfect for the horrible weather.

I am loving these jeans! I bought them on a whim because they were long, only £3 and looked like they might fit round the waist. I was very surprised when I could actually get my legs into them: I don’t know about you, but I find Zara jeans notorious for having super skinny legs that usually I can’t get much past my ankle into. But fit they do and I love the detailing around the pockets at the top. I should probably add ‘because they have a zip pocket’ to my list of reasons for buying them – I’m a sucker for buttons and zips on clothing.

Outfit: November 11th
My poppy pin was firmly in place for Armistice Day on Wednesday last week. I’ve had this cardi a lot of years (and it was a £5 charity shop bargain) but usually I only wear it around the house. The weather was so mild last week though that I started wearing it as my outer layer for a change from my shorter jackets, and it was all I needed really.
Speaking of charity shop bargains, these jeans cost me all of £3 on Monday lunchtime when I had a (very wet) wander down the high street near work, popping in to all the charity shops there. They are by Zara and are just the right length for me which is a very rare thing indeed for a charity shop find.
