PMT Challenge - Days 27-31 Catch Up

Here's the second installment of my PMT outfit round up posts!

Day 27

The second day of my weekend away, this was great in the rain. I subbed out the denim jacket that was suggested for a cardigan as it was easier to pack!

Day 30

It was still too chilly for this dress really, but a jersey blazer is cosier than a real blazer.

Day 31

So here's the previous day's challenge outfit that was definitely better suited to casual Friday. Especially as I like my jeans with rips. I switched out the cosy oatmeal cardi though, as a it wasn't that cold out (shocker, I know!) and the blazer was a bit smarter with the ripped jeans.

I skipped Day 7 because the prompt was for a dress and although spring seemed to have FINALLY arrived in the Frozen North, it still wasn’t warm enough for the dress I wanted to wear. And the outfit was to put it with a denim jacket and sneakers which is a look I love, but we had an 80th birthday lunch to attend and I needed to wear something smarter. So I will tag day 7 onto the end of the challenge, by which time it will be May and (fingers crossed) warmer.

Day 8 should be white jeans again but as I’m not doing white jeans it’s the khaki jeggings with blue and red.

A cosy cardigan for Day 5 of the challenge which was great as it was a little chilly outside again. I liked this outfit but I think it did need the earrings and shoes to pull it together. When I initially got dressed I was thinking of swapping the cardi for a blazer but once I added the accessories it looked better.

So yeah, I caved in and got some more Nickel and Suede earrings. I have my birthday this month and my mom was getting me a couple of pairs as a gift. I ended up doing the order myself so added in this white pair since I was paying the shipping anyway.

So, this isn’t an outfit I would have come up with by myself, and I’m still not sure on the teal/olive combo, but that’s what the outfit guide said so I went with it. Loving the striped blazer with the teal top though! And for me, part of this challenge was to get over my, not ‘fear’ exactly, but apprehension about pairing red and green shades outside of December. So I added a red necklace and shoes as my accessories, rather than going with navy shoes which was my natural instinct.

Outfit: March 30th - Good Friday

30-03-18

Good Friday is a bank holiday in the UK and we just had a day at home. I did some washing, went to the supermarket, made mushroom soup and went for a run in the afternoon, so all I needed was a casual, comfy outfit.

This is another bonus outfit from the challenge I mentioned the other day. I feel like this challenge is going to be good for me in that I will finally get over my fear of green (olive) and red together (I always think it gives off a Christmas vibe).

I cannot remember the last time I wore this cardigan and should probably purge it from my closet, but I know the moment I do that I will regret it and suddenly want to wear it all the time. I grew up being told (mostly by my mom and grandma) that bright red is a good colour on me because of my dark hair. I guess that’s true, but it’s not a colour I reach for very often these days. You can’t beat a bit of red, white and blue for spring though.

It’s February! It’s still cold! But it’s one month closer to spring y’all, and, at the time of writing, the sun is shining and it’s a lovely (albeit cold) day!

This sweater is a size 22(!) so it’s a little oversized on me, but that’s how I wanted it to be, hence buying such a large size. (It also means the sleeves are the right length on me which is always a good thing.) It’s not that oversized though, so I am not convinced it would actually fit a size 22. It was marked way down in the sale, making it a really good price for cashmere and if I wear it half as much as I’ve been wearing the black version of this I have then it will be in single figures cost-per-wear in no time at all.

So once again we were promised snow that didn’t materialise. Friday was supposed to be heavy snow from the early hours and right through the day. Instead? Sunshine. I had thought I would wear my walking boots outside and carry my leopard print trainers to wear in the office, but when there was a distinct lack of the white stuff in the morning I decided walking boots were overkill so I put on these red boots instead. They just about coped with the ice underfoot and I managed to stay upright all the way to work.

Once again I have a thermal top hidden under my sweater (see above: ice) but I braved the cold in just jeans this day.

So yeah, the snow arrived mid-afternoon the previous day and so it was another outfit of thick cosy Primark velvet-lined leggings (honestly, they’re so much warmer than jeans or regular tights so if you don’t already own them, go get some!), a short skirt and a cashmere sweater. With a thermal top layered underneath because I am nesh. Obviously I didn’t walk out in the snow in these boots, I put on my wellies for that (my EMU boots having given up the ghost and started leaking on the way home the previous day). I find wellies particularly cold to wear, even with thick socks, so on a whim I stuck a sheepskin insole inside them this morning. I think it helped a bit.
