NL navy flats

This is my outfit from a week ago Sunday. I was teaching Sunday school so I went off to church, then we had to hotfoot it across the city to my sister's house in celebration of my niece's 4th birthday. Seriously, how did she get to 4?! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. I was going to wear a cardi but decided to smarten myself up with the blazer instead.

Primark Black Lace Up

These trousers are new. They were actually a birthday present from my sister, which was over a month ago now, but I am only just now getting around to wearing them. The aforementioned change in work has meant that I haven’t had the opportunity to wear slightly more casual pants before now. But last Friday seemed like the perfect time. I only have one other item (a t shirt) in this olive green colour so I’m looking forward to mixing it in with other pieces in my wardrobe.

The trousers themselves are from the F+F range at Tesco and they came in a variety of colours – burgundy, blue, black and perhaps one other, I can’t remember. White maybe? They are super soft and super stretchy but the thing that attracted me to them was the zips and the fact that they weren’t jeans. I definitely don’t need any more jeans in my closet (shh, I didn’t say that!).

Georgia Rose red patent flats

After a week or more of lovely, sunny weather (which was actually fairly warm too), we awoke to rain. I had planned to put navy accessories with this dress as I love the combination of grey and navy, but the weather forced me to switch to patent leather shoes (all my navy flats are fabric), so I change my navy shrug for a black one and added my red beads.

Silver flats

As you may have noticed from my recent outfit posts I've had to smarten up my act when it comes to work clothes. This is due to a change in my job and the fact that I'm no longer in an office where every day is casual Friday. Boo. I liked having the option to wear jeans each day if I felt like it. However, wearing jeans on a daily basis meant that some many of my dresses and skirts were getting neglected so at least they're in rotation again now.

Magrit Navy

So the up side to not taking photos for a week or so means that I have almost caught myself up with posting, but that I don't have content scheduled very far in advance so I won't be able to take another extended break. Gah.

This outfit was a mismatched suit, comprising of a jacket that I've had for many years, paired with a pair of pants I bought recently. They're not designed to be cropped really, but that's what Next's long length will look like on a girl who's 5'11". They'll be ideal for the spring/summmer and early autumn. The colour match is much further out than these photos make it look, but I quite liked that.

Yes, it's that sweater again. No, I'm not sorry. I don't own anything else this oversized, but for some reason I'm loving it! It's just so easy to throw on over jeans and well, it has stripes. The sun finally decided to show its face on Bank Holiday Monday so I dug out my pale wash distressed jeans for their first wearing this year. Converse pumps were a casual way to finish the outfit.

Georgia Rose silver camo flats

May 1st dawned sunny but a little chilly, then it went downhill rapidly and rained most of the day. I was on Sunday school duty so I didn't mind too much. In the afternoon I headed over to my hometown to visit a school friend. It may not have been that warm, but my mint green sweater was spring-like and this scarf always brightens everything up. I took some shots of my jacket too. I got it for Christmas and it's awesome, but it's only this past few days that I've been wearing it as it hasn't been warm enough.

Two Fridays ago it snowed again. I hope by the time this post goes live it has warmed up a bit a lot. I have been looking for a stripy dress for the longest time. I was picky with my requirements though: it had to be long enough that I'd feel comfortable wearing it with bare legs in the summer, thick enough fabric to not need an underskirt, sleeves of some description, not too expensive. It seemed like I was asking too much until I stumbled on this little gem in Primark. Hooray for the midi length that is everywhere at the moment, and that translates into on the knee length on me! And it was just £6. Yes, you read that right. £6. And no, it wasn't marked down, that was the actual price. The fabric is stretchy and great quality and the length is perfect and it has short sleeves so it will be awesome if this weather ever improves.
