Outfit: August 11th – In The Tall Zone

I am in a tall clothing buy/sell group on Facebook and this jacket was purchased on there for just £5 (which included postage so was a total bargain). It’s from Long Tall Sally’s long defunct Tall Zone range (any tall ladies out there remember that?!) which was a range LTS ran for a few seasons around 2000-2002, aimed at the younger market I think. I remember having a pair of flared jeans with sequins on the leg from Tall Zone. The jacket is therefore old but thanks to LTS’s quality, still in really good condition. It’s a sort of grey/brown colour (the label says chocolate but I say it depends on the light as to whether it’s grey or brown…) and is made of cotton but fully lined. I ignored the dry clean only instruction and put it through my washing machine on a gentle cycle and it came out fine.

The top is also LTS, but I added the appliques to cover a grease stain I managed to get on the front of it. Go me…

Outfit: August 10th – On Your Bike

I cycled to work in this outfit. My commute is less than a 10 minute walk, so I don’t really need to cycle, but my bike was all set up and I just fancied it for a change. I had to choose my outfit carefully: pockets in the trousers for my keys and phone if I popped home at dinnertime, a stretchy blazer that I could move freely in, and shoes that were attached to my feet. It’s uphill all the way to work but downhill all the way back, so cycling has its benefits as I can get home in about three minutes.

Outfit: August 9th – Pale Colours

I haven’t worn these pants as much as I thought I would this summer. Still, if the rain holds off there’s still a good few weeks left to wear them (lighter coloured pants and rain don’t mix, and August has been a bit of a wash out so far).

Can you tell I’m obsessed with this scarf? It’s so soft, and even though it isn’t really chilly enough in the mornings for it yet, it’s hard to resist putting it on as it seems to go with most things. I even used it as an actual blanket when we were staying at my aunt’s caravan a couple of weekends ago as it’s massive too.

Outfit: August 8th – Wet and Rainy

Posting is likely to be a bit sparser than usual for the rest of the month as it’s holiday time and that means I’m not always able to take photos. I’m still working in between though (who else misses the long school summer holidays?!) so there will be some posts, just not as many as usual.

This day was wet and rainy, and not overly warm for August so out came a sweater and the big check scarf from last week, though I didn’t get a picture of it.

Outfit: August 3rd – Scarf in August

Having been cold in the office the following day I decided to put a big cosy scarf over my summer dress ‘just in case’. I was going to wear ankle boots as rain was forecast but they didn’t look quite right so I switched them out for shoes.

The scarf is super soft and it’s huge, so I can see it getting a lot of wear this autumn and winter. And the rest of August tbh, if the weather doesn’t improve!

Outfit: August 2nd – Stripes and Green

This was a comfy, casual outfit for a busy day at work. I put my black blazer over this to smarten it up a bit and was glad I did because despite it being August, my office was a bit chilly at times. It was time to retire these pumps when I got home, the soles were cracked and wouldn’t survive another wearing. For just £3.50 I can’t really complain though.

Outfit: July 31st – LBD

The forecast was for rain so I put on sensible shoes and a dress that is a bit thicker than the t shirt type ones I’ve been wearing of late. This dress is great in the autumn – the sleeves and thick fabric make it seasonally appropriate and the scoop neck works well with a scarf. It was pretty good in the summer too – especially on a cooler, rainy day.

Outfit – July 26th – Stripe Skirt

I feel like this outfit is kind of similar to yesterday’s – striped bottom and slightly-fall coloured top. But that’s what I’m wearing so does it even matter that it’s similar?

It was so wet the morning I wore this that I had to stash my cute shoes in my bag and pull on boots for my walk to work. The sun came out later on though, so the weather redeemed itself.

Outfit: July 25th – Burgundy and Stripes

I have a new found love for these pants! They are my current favourites, just as they were about two years ago. They’re just a bit more exciting than an plain colour, but they’re neutral so they go with pretty much everything. It was a bit dull and grey they day I wore this, so I pulled out some burgundy (I feel like burgundy is more of an autumn/winter colour and doesn’t work in the bright sunshine).
