Priceless Navy

Last day of Dressember! If you would like to make all of our efforts worthwhile by donating to Refuge – you can do so here.

So, it’s the last day of 2010 and I am stuck in waiting for my new phone to be delivered. I was given the rather vague delivery time of ‘between 8am and 4pm’ and I was rather hoping it would have been here by now. However, I do need to wash my car to get some of the salt off it, so I suppose I can go and do that for want of anything better to do.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you lovely readers for reading each day, and know that it makes my day when you leave me a comment. Thank you for your continuing support and here’s to 2011!

Blue and beige tunic/dress – Firetrap (Box Clothing) (gifted)
White thermal top (underneath) – M&S
Jeggings – New Look Tall
Blue boots – Priceless Shoes
Blue beads – Ethel Austin
Silver hoops – gifted
Blue Obi belt – ASOS

Barratt Tan

Yesterday morning (OK, it was nearer lunchtime by the time I was up and ready) I went to do the Tesco shopping, and went on a hunt for a sim card for a phone the young man has bought for his dad. In the afternoon we tidied round, I did some ironing and I made a pie in preparation for my sister and her husband coming for tea. We had an enjoyable evening playing the Logo game and with the boys playing with their remote control helicopters.

I got to thinking yesterday that as well as missing my jeans, I am also missing my shorter coats. I feel my two longer ones look better over dresses and have been wearing those two all month, so I am looking forward to wearing a different coat tomorrow.

Beige knit dress – Bay Trading
Black ribbed leggings – Long Tall Sally
Black cardi – New Look Tall
Black belt – free with a shirt
Tan boots – Barratts
Red beads – eBay
Silver hoops – gifted

George Zebra Flats

No Dressember picture today, although I was wearing a tunic earlier – that grey stripy one you’ve seen a million times. I had it on with jeggings and my oversize grey cardi, but as I didn’t do my hair or makeup I didn’t take a picture. I am enjoying doing Dressember, but I am starting to miss my jeans. I have an outfit planned for the first day back at work already and it involves trousers.

We are out visiting with friends tonight, so I showered and fixed myself up ready to go out. I was going to wear boots and take my fold up black flats with me to wear around the house, but then I remembered that the snow is gone and boots are no longer a necessity. So I consulted my collection of flats and went with the zebra print ones.

Black cashmere cardi – F+F at Tesco
Teal lace trim cami – Long Tall Sally
Jeans – Topshop Tall
Zebra print flats – George at Asda (eBay)

New Look OTK boots

We slept late (again – I’m so not going to want to get up for work next week) and after dinner the young man went off to meet his mate as it’s the mate’s birthday. I needed some cleanser from Superdrug so I ventured out to brave the mall. It was busy but I got out of there unscathed.

I also called my mobile company as my contract was due for renewal and have scored myself a new phone. It should be delivered on Friday and I am very excited about it.

I’m wearing my Christmas gift dress/tunic again. It’s a bit short to wear like this really, but I may as well make the most of not being at work while I can. I completely forgot to put on any jewellery today – fail.

Purple dress/tunic – Long Tall Sally (gifted)
Black leggings – New Look Tall
Black OTK boots – New Look
Black polo neck sweater – New Look Tall

TG Rinding

It was snowing when we got up this morning. It is no longer freezing outside though so the snow is wetter and therefore slippery, which is fun.

I was given a hand blender for Christmas from the young man’s parents, and they gave us half a home grown pumpkin when we were round there yesterday, so I spent this morning making soup. I am really impressed with the hand blender (I have the jug kind and have never used a hand one before) as it is much less faff just blending in the pan. The soup was delicious and there is enough left over for dinner tomorrow too.

This afternoon I walked up to the retail park – for some exercise and to go to Boots. The newly slippery snow made walking a bit more difficult, but I was smug that I had walked as the car parks and approach roads were chaos. I had a look at the sales but hadn’t intended to buy anything so I didn’t. I just got the bits I had gone for in Boots, and a loaf of bread from M&S. Exciting, huh?

This tunic/dress was a Christmas present from my parents. So was the necklace. Well you have play with your presents on Boxing Day, don’t you?

We slept late this morning and then did some chores around the house. I cleaned the bathroom, changed the bed sheets then took a shower and got ready. Can we all just take a moment to admire my hair please? I know it doesn’t look any different to usual, but I didn’t use my straightners other than to smooth out my fringe and to flick the ends out a little at the front. My new miracle blow dry product is the Babyliss Big Hair. I treated myself to it last weekend and I love it! I’ll do a proper review of it at some point, but it’s revolutionised my life!

We’re just having a lazy afternoon at the moment and will shortly be heading to the young man’s parents for tea and to play cards, a bit of a Boxing Day tradition.
