Choosing Outfits

Many of the bloggers I know plan their outfits in advance – either the night before or a whole week’s worth on a Sunday. I have to plan mine the night before as I get up earlier than the young man so need to have everything laid out in the spare room so I don’t have to get dressed in the dark. As I have mentioned before, I keep a lookbook – a large notebook with cuttings from magazines – and this often serves as inspiration for my outfits. However, what I also do is spend an hour or so looking through my lookbook and writing down outfit ideas in another notebook. That way, if I lack inspiration on an evening, or I am simply too tired to think about what to wear the following day, I can just pick an outfit from my notebook in a ‘here’s one I made earlier’ kind of way. I have just spent part of this afternoon doing this and so I have a whole load of ideas in stock and waiting to become reality.

  1. Good idea... I also have a lookbook, but tend not to always look in it! It's helpful for style ruts though.

  2. I wish I was that organised. I tend to go to my room, look through my wardrobe and then my watch to see how much time I have got.

  3. That is such a good idea, I wish I had that level of organisation. I pretty much put on whatever I drag off the bedroom floor first that is actually clean.

  4. Wow, that's a good idea. I should start one too. Sometimes I need some inspirations to think outside the box.

  5. Totally in awe of your level of organisation. I SO need to find the time to do something like this - maybe it would help me not wear skinnies and tank tops every day!
