Outfit: Good Friday and Weekend Recap
This is what I wore on Friday. Except I changed the shoes at the last minute and could have saved another pair in the shoeper challenge, only I didn’t get a picture of them.
Friday morning we had a full English breakfast, then set off to visit our friends in Lincolnshire (the young man is godfather to their 6 year old daughter, and she has a younger brother who will be 4 in about 2 weeks’ time. It was hot and sunny again and everyone was in the garden when we arrived. We spent the afternoon in the garden and had a BBQ for tea.
Saturday dawned hot and sunny too and we had a walk along the river to Tattershall Castle. There was an Easter egg trail for the children to do, and they managed to find all the answers and make it to the roof to claim their eggs from the friendly dragon up there. Saturday afternoon we headed to the next village for ice cream from the village shop. Saturday night was another BBQ, but the threat of rain (and thunder and lightning from a nearby storm) drove us indoors.
Sunday was less hot but still sunny, and we headed off to do another (but different) Easter egg trail at another National Trust property, Belton House. I was quite excited to discover that it had been the location used in the 80s children’s TV series Moondial, as I can remember watching it. Our friends left us around 4pm to go home, and we had a quick look around the house (that belonged to Edward VIII’s Lord in Waiting around the time of the abdication crisis) before heading back up north. It was warmer when we got home, so we rounded off the day with another BBQ.
