A week ago Saturday the tallgirls.co.uk website held a pop up event in Leeds. I was very excited as they have previously only been to London, Birmingham and Manchester. Online shopping is great, but sometimes it's nice to have the opportunity to try stuff on before you buy it, rather than ordering, trying on at home and then returning it if it doesn't fit.
The Tall Girls team had set up shop in a room in the Met Hotel in Leeds and it was the real deal, with changing rooms, a shoe department and possibly the longest rack of jeans I've ever seen in my life! It was certainly the longest rack of jeans that I knew were all the right length (or even too long) for my legs.
Me with Joanne McHarg
Joanne McHarg founded the company in 1998 with a range of footwear in size 9 and larger, and then branched out into clothing in 2001. She still runs the company today and it was lovely to meet her in person at the pop up. We follow each other on Instagram and I think it was the first time I've ever been recognised from social media.
I had a good look round the shop and tried on lots of things, eventually picking out this fabulous biker jacket to take home with me (it also comes in navy and I'm hoping I might get that one for my upcoming birthday).
There are a few other pop up shops taking place this spring, details are on the website. So if you're tall get yourself down there and check it out!
