At the time of writing the summer appeared to be over. We had two days of heavy rain, with two more forecast. The young man thought it was great as the garden and the lawn was in need of a good watering, but when you have to walk to work? Not so much. Hence the boots in this outfit. I hate having wet feet so even at the end of June I will wear boots if it is raining. And there was no danger of it being too warm for boots either: the top temperature this day was just 12˚C. See? Summer: over.
