Haircut
Thought you might like to see the results of my haircut this afternoon. I hadn’t intended going quite as short, but I like it.
Outfit: Last Day!
I have 2 weeks off work after today and I’m very excited about that! We’ve not really any plans, but just in case we do end up going away at the last minute, I have scheduled a post for each day so that you will still have something to read. I’ll add in my outfit shots as & when I can.
Today I am meeting my friend for coffee at dinner time, then I have my hair appointment this afternoon. I think this evening will be a quiet night in.
This tunic/dress was a sale bargain last Saturday. It was reduced to £7 in the New Look sale. It’s not something I would ever have bought before, but I just tried on a load of random things and loved this. We’re back to chilly mornings so I’ve layered it up with a cardi & scarf. I don’t think I paid full price for anything I am wearing today.

Outfit: Thursday Evening
I ran home from work last night to put on some jeans and heels before heading up to the local retail park to meet my sister. She wanted some skinny jeans from Dorothy Perkins, and I needed some bits in Boots. We got all we needed, and then once the young man got home, we headed out to eat at a local pub. I just had time to snap a quick photo before the shopping. I changed into my leopard print flats for the pub as we decided we would walk home.

Outfit: Blue Thursday
I wear a lot of blue, don’t I? I’ve only had this cardi a week but it’s already a favourite and I must have worn it about 4 times.
It’s pretty warm out again today, but we have been promised torrential rain, hence the boots. And the air conditioning is bound to go on shortly so I will be very glad of the cardi. I’ve been wanting to wear this dress all summer, but kept putting it off as it’s a slightly awkward length and it’s quite loose fitting. However, with the belt it is pulled in and up slightly, and I think it works quite well with the boots.
Last night was another quiet one. I could get used to this, but I know I’ll enjoy drama and choir once they start up again.
This afternoon I am meeting my sister at the local retail park. She wants some jeans in Dorothy Perkins and I have to get a birthday present for her husband. When the young man gets in from work the 4 of us will head to the local pub for a meal.

Outift: Red Wednesday
I keep thinking it’s Thursday today. I must have at least one day per week where I’m not sure what day it is.
The young man’s parents have been away for a few days so last night we walked up to their house to water his dad’s plants. Then we continued on to the local pub for a drink.
This also means we are cat sitting and this morning she decided to get in on the photo action.
I got this shrug online last week, and despite being new in, it was already low in stock. We are promised warmth and sunshine today so brights were definitely the way to go. I was going to wear a white tank but then decided on something more unexpected. I like how the red and blue pop against each other. And the snake skin shoes are kind of a neutral so work well with this.
When wearing a racer back tank it is imperative to either wear a racer back or cross strap bra, or get one of those little hook things to convert a regular bra into a racer back. Please ladies. And on the same subject – that thing older ladies do of slipping down the straps of their cami & bra to avoid tan lines whilst walking around in the sun? Just don’t do it. If you really don’t want tan lines, wear a strapless bra (ie. One that is designed to give you support without straps) and a strapless top. The other way is just not a good look and I’ve seen far too much of it this summer. Thank you, that is all.

Make Up
I stopped into Boots on my way home last night to buy a refill for my make up compact. I was dismayed to find that Clinique are discontinuing the Superbalanced compact that I use. Why is it that when I find a foundation I really like, it gets discontinued? The lovely lady on the Clinique counter showed me the mineral powder that is replacing it, and put some on my face. However, because it’s powder it went everywhere! She could tell I wasn’t happy with it so she tried out the Even Better liquid foundation on me instead. She put some blush on my cheeks too so I could see a complete look, and the results are in the pictures above. I really enjoyed having my make up done. The Clinique lady used to be a make up artist at Yorkshire Television she said, and it turned out she knows someone from my old church. Small world.
Anyway, I was convinced to buy a bottle of the Even Better make up and also bought a tube of the moisturiser I use so that I would get the Bonus Time free gift. I needed a foundation brush too so once I’d paid for my Clinique things I was given a £5 voucher for No7 and Ruby & Mille (got to love Boots!). That meant I could get a No7 brush for just £6, and also received another voucher at the till (I think you get one when you spend £5 or something).
I’m not used to using a liquid foundation so we’ll see how I get on when my current compact is finishing.
On a related note: there was a sample of Lash Power mascara in the Bonus Time gift bag. It has a tiny little skinny wand (the kind I prefer) and coats the lashes really well, separating them as it goes. It is also waterproof. I’m pretty impressed with it. (Amber, are you listening to this?)

Outfit: Blue Tuesday
I have new shoes on today. They’re a bit big so I must buy heel grips later. I am thinking of stuffing the ends of them with tissue in the meantime, just to stop them falling off my feet!
Just a simple blue dress today with some brown and leopard print accessories. The earrings are new too. They were just £1 in the sale in Dorothy Perkins on Saturday. It’s always worth checking out the jewellery stand in Dorothy Perkins. They usually have some reduced items and often there are bargains to be had.

Haircut 100
I have a hair appointment booked for Friday and I am a bit bored with my current style. I want to go for something a bit more choppy/edgy, but keeping most of the current length (I’ll go a bit shorter, but not actually ‘short’, if that makes sense!). If anyone has any suggestions/pictures etc, please leave a comment and/or link, or email me on the address at the side.
This Week I Will Be Mostly…

Outfit: Pink Monday
I am on holiday from work for 2 weeks from Friday so this will be the last early Monday morning for a couple of weeks – for which I am very thankful. I had no idea what the weather forecast was for today so I played it safe with leggings and a cardi in case it was on the cooler side. So far it is dull and overcast and not particularly warm so I think I made the right decision.

Outfit: Sunday
We got up at a reasonable time for once for a Sunday, then I did the usual Tesco run. After lunch we went for a walk up to the next village and ended up doing about 7 miles. We stopped off for a couple of drinks en route. We went home for tea, then the young man went out with his mate for a few drinks and I did some ironing then watched Flying Doctors DVDs and ate Maltesers – a great way to spend a Sunday evening!

Outfit: Saturday Shopping
My sister & I met up in Harrogate this morning. We walked across the Stray into town and had a wander around the shops. We had lunch in Bettys which is a rather posh tea rooms and a must if you visit Harrogate (or York, Ilkley or Northallerton). The waitresses wear white aprons and cloth caps, and the cake selection alone is worth the trip there.
I picked up a few bargains in the last of the sales, and we managed to dodge the showers.
