How much do I love this show? I think it’s the last episode next week and my Thursday evenings will be duller without it, that’s for sure. I’d never seen anything with Gok in it before, and I have definitely been missing out as he’s fabulous!
In case you’ve not seen it, the main concept is this: each week there’s a theme and 4 fashionistas have an unlimited budget to create a look each within this theme. Gok has £800 to create 4 looks from the high street.
Last night’s theme was ‘red carpet’ and the fashionistas finally lost the plot. The buyer from Harrods pick out a dress (which looked see through to me) and announced “it’s quite pricey at £3,560. Actually, no, that’s not so bad. We have dresses here that cost forty or fifty thousand”. And then the buyer at Selfridges added a bracelet to her outfit that cost £68,000. This pushed the total of all four designer outfits to over £106,000. As I said to the TV last night: you could have a house for that!

I love him and the show is ok, but for £200 I do not want to be cutting bits off a dress and adding other bits on! I think the advertising for this is very misleading!
ReplyDeleteHow to look good naked is amazing, the results are fab and it is just clothes no surgery etc!
I must try to watch How To Look Good Naked next time it's on, now that I have a newfound appreciation for Gok.
