It was another scorcher yesterday and the young man wanted to take his new car for a run, so we headed off early to the coast. His parents are staying over there in a caravan this week so we surprised them by arriving as they were having breakfast. We had a leisurely day around the caravan then headed into Whitby town late afternoon. We walked up to the Abbey and church on the cliff top (199 steps up) and then back down into town for tea at our favourite restaurant on the harbourside. We walked back to the car along the beach and headed home over the moors. It was still 20°C when we got back around 9.15pm.
I only had time to snap a quick picture before we set off in the morning as we wanted to get an early start to miss the traffic.
