Outfit: Shoeper Challenge #20 and My Best Friend’s Wedding
Saturday night was the night of my friend S’s wedding reception. We were housemates at university so we have known each other a long time. It was a good do and it was nice to be able to catch up with the girls from the hen night, and meet some of their partners.
I spied this dress in the window of the charity shop in the village when I was in there last Saturday dropping some stuff off. I hadn’t planned to get a new dress for the reception but when I saw this I knew it would be perfect. However, it was priced at £10 and I only had £5 in my pocket. With just an hour until the shop shut (for some reason everything in my village closes at lunchtime on Saturdays) I didn’t have time to go back for it, so I waited until Monday morning and phoned them up to ask them to save it for me so I could go and pick it up at lunchtime. They had no problem holding it for me and I duly went along at lunchtime to get it. The lady in the shop said I would “look a right bobby dazzler in it” and well, you can judge for yourself on that score. I think that’s a wonderful turn of phrase though.
The shoes were another eBay bargain – I’d seen a similar shoe in a sling back in the store, then spied these on eBay. I prefer a full shoe to a sling back so bid on these and they come in very handy as party shoes.
The reception was great fun – there was a lovely buffet, a disco, a caricaturist, and a photo area with silly hats and glasses.
Navy dress – ASOS (charity shop)
Silver shoes – New Look (eBay)
Blue heart pendant – Scope
Silver earrings – gifted
