George Zebra Flats

This outfit is from last Tuesday night – we took the young man’s parents to the local pub for a meal to celebrate his mum’s birthday.

These shoes were a £2.99 eBay bargain, thanks to the seller’s inability to spell (listing them as zebra ‘pint’ shoes) and my inability to type, thus finding zebra ‘pint’ shoes.

We decided on a whim to book a room in Llandudno for Wednesday night, and headed off Wednesday morning, hence the lack of posts. We had a fabulous time – we went up Great Orme on a cable car and walked miles along the sea front and around the town.

The hotel was an old Victorian house that had been converted into six suites. Look at the size of our room!

Thursday morning we went to Llanberis, somewhere I had not been since I went on a boarders’ weekend there in 1995. (Each term, each year group of boarders at my school were taken away for the weekend somewhere. The summer trip was usually to Llanberis where there is a big lake for watersports. We built rafts, went on canoes and did some archery I seem to recall, and it was hot and sunny the entire weekend.) Llanberis did not disappoint – the sky was clear blue all day. We had gone there to visit Electric Mountain, which is a water powered electrical power station inside a mountain – Dinorwig. We did the tour, then went to a pub for lunch and decided to go up Snowdon (the highest mountain in Wales) on a steam train, something you could do just a few hundred yards further down the road. The views from the top were amazing!
