Review: Joe Browns

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Joe Browns to see whether I would like to review a couple of their products. Free clothes you say? Of course I jumped at the chance. I had a bit of trouble picking something out as Joe Browns is not really my style. It’s quite casual with a bit of a boho vibe – perfect if that’s you. I chose the black dress you see here and I am really pleased with it. It is cotton so will be perfect for the summer, but is also fine for work with a cardi over it or a top under it. It did nothing for me when I first put it on as the style is quite loose fitting and empire line. Add a belt however and it’s extremely wearable. The dress is lined but the skirt part is still-see through so you will need to wear a slip under it. I love that the Joe Browns site provides customer reviews – I find these really help you to decide whether a product is right for you. I ordered my usual top size as the skirt is quite full and it fits me fine. The back is shirred elastic so that helps with fit too, and the straps are adjustable in length. If you don’t like this dress, take a look at the website as Joe Browns has take a look at the website as Joe Browns has a range of boho clothing, such as womens dresses and tunics.

The second item I was a basic vest top – you can never have too many of those, right? The reviews for this stated that it ran small and had no stretch in it whatsoever, and that proved to be correct. However, as I was already aware of that I ordered two sizes up and have a top that fits fine. I was impressed with the length – as I have said previously it is very difficult to find tops that are not mid-riff baring on me when they are not specifically designed for tall people. The lace detailing around the neckline and straps make it just a little bit different.

If you are looking for something for the summer that is a little bit different to what you can find on the high street, definitely check out Joe Browns.
