Outfit: Celebrate Good Times, Come On!
After such a great start, yesterday went downhill rapidly, only to redeem itself again in the evening.
I had a doctor’s appointment in the morning, so left work to drive to it. I got as far as the roundabout outside the office and my car engine cut out. It started again but conked out when I tried to move it forwards. I managed to limp it to the side of the road and called the office for back up. Three of my lovely fellas came out and pushed me to the layby a bit further up. Being the only girl in the office definitely has its uses! I called the breakdown service and they said they would be out in a couple of hours. The moving men arrived with the packing crates and we were ‘speed packed’ – the boxes practically being snatched off us before the lids were even closed.
The RAC man arrived and diagnosed a faulty cam sensor. Of course the car behaved itself perfectly as I drove home, the RAC man following behind just in case.
The young man had texted at lunchtime to say we would go out for a celebratory meal and so after I’d walked to the supermarket (we have friends coming up for the weekend today so the shopping still had to be done) I got ready to go out. We walked down to the local pub and enjoyed a delicious meal – the steak pie that I had was particularly tasty. I ended up putting a black cashmere cardi over the blue top, as I usually feel chilly in that pub. I also changed my shoes once we had decided where we were going.
No pictures today as I’m working from home and am just in skinny jeans, a couple of sweaters and my tan Obi belt. I put my tan boots on when I walked to the village at dinnertime.
I also took a pair of trousers to the alterations lady yesterday, to get them taken in. They are suit trousers and the jacket still fits me so I’d promised myself that when I got to my goal I would get the trousers altered.

That's terrible about your car. I'm glad it all worked out.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's still not fixed yet. Fingers crossed it will be tomorrow.
