Kate Benjamin Bag Review

Kate Benjamin bag

When the lovely people at Accessories Direct contacted me just before Christmas to see whether I would like to review a bag or item of jewellery for them, I was excited to say yes please! They gave me a few items to choose from, and I picked this lovely leather bag by a designer called Kate Benjamin. I was delighted to discover that it was made of leather, as in the past year I have been trying to upgrade my bag collection to mostly leather.

There was some delay in receiving the bag, thanks to Royal Fail and their annual inability to handle the Christmas post, but when I contacted Accessories Direct to say that I hadn’t yet received the bag they were very helpful and promised to look into its whereabouts straight away. A few days later the bag arrived. It was well packaged in a waterproof mail sack, and wrapped in bubble wrap inside the sack.

It is a fold-over style clutch bag, but it also has a detachable long strap, meaning it can be worn across the body (which I love) or as a shoulder bag. The strap has silver studs at either end meaning it is adjustable by a few inches in either direction to suit the wearer’s needs. The top of the bag has a zip, and folds over which provides extra security for all your belongings. The leather is lovely and soft and the front features the designer’s monogram in silver.

The inside is lined with a good quality fabric (there’s nothing worse than when you love a bag but the lining is cheap and starts to split) and I love the funky design. There is an internal zip pocket and a little pouch for your phone, which is actually big enough to hold your smartphone (so many designers have failed to take into account the increase in size of mobiles and my phone doesn’t fit in the phone pouch in most of my bags) so that is a definite bonus.

Accessories Direct stocks a range of hats, loungewear, jewellery and bags, and UK mainland delivery is free when you spend over £30.
