Outfit: Black Friday

I can’t remember the last time I owned black jeans. I think I was a teenager. I don’t know why I haven’t had a pair for so many years. I think black denim kind of disappeared for a while maybe 10 or so years ago, then it came back but I just didn’t want to wear it. Now it’s everywhere and when I spied this pair of jeans from the Next Tall range on eBay I decided it was time I had black denim in my wardrobe again.

I knew I wanted to pair my black jeans with my (faux) leather jacket and I opted for a cashmere sweater as yesterday there was a cold draught every time the front door opened at the office. Is it really May or have we travelled back in time to October or November? The question of shoes was an easy one really – I just followed my motto: if in doubt, wear red shoes.

Last night I went and did the Tesco shop and it seemed to take ages. I did take my time walking around the store, granted, but the checkouts were really busy with only 6 tills open, and they put out a call for more cashiers to go to the checkouts 3 times whilst I was there. I got home and unpacked the groceries, made the lunches for today and then had a cup of tea and some crumpets whilst we watched Tales From Television Centre – a documentary on BBC4 with lots of people reminiscing about what it was like to work at Television Centre.
