Outfit: Spots, Spots and Stripes
It is fairly warm again today (and so it should be, it’s mid-June!) so I plumped for a summer skirt but with long sleeves to combat the air conditioning. I’m thinking I’ll wear flats all this week – not for any particular reason but it has to be good to give myself a break from heels every so often, right?
Last night I went to the gym and did step class. I thought about staying for the next class but the instructor is so miserable I don’t feel motivated at all and it seems like a waste of time. I had put my step a notch higher than usual so I wouldn’t feel too guilty about not staying for the second class. It worked and I headed home feeling like I’d had a good workout.
Once I got back I prepared tonight’s tea to go in the slow cooker and then took a shower. I sat down around 9pm and read my book – Keris Stainton’s Emma Loves LA. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. The young man put the TV on to watch Escape From Alcatraz. I was only half watching it, but it seemed to be an older version of The Shawshank Redemption (was that based on Alcatraz?). The young man watched the end in bed but I was drifting off to sleep so couldn’t tell you what happened. I have to assume though that they did, indeed, escape because a) it was Clint Eastwood and b) otherwise the movie would have been called ‘Attempted Escape From Alcatraz’ or ‘Almost Escaped From Alcatraz’, neither of which is quite so snappy.
Today I am seeing my sister and niece, and this evening we have the drama group AGM. At present we don’t have enough people to form a new committee so it could either be a very short meeting – no committee means no more society, or a very long meeting if we suddenly get flooded with volunteers.
