Barratts Patent

It snowed on and off all day again today. Luckily it came to little more than a dusting on untreated ground, but I am so ready for winter to just go away and die now that I can’t even get excited about it. I need sunshine and I need warmth. We have had some sunshine today, but when it was accompanied by snow blowing horizontally, I don’t think it was all that warm!

This week and next week I am working in the company’s head office, filling in for someone who is on holiday. So that means my look has to be a little more formal than what I would usually wear for my office, which is quite a relaxed place. I don’t mind though, it will give me a chance to dig out my trouser suit which barely sees the light of day these days, and to dress up more than I already do.

I really enjoyed wearing blazers and jackets last week so I’m going to give a few more of them an airing this week. I was going to put my blue shoes with today’s outfit, but when I saw the forecast (and the fact that it wasn’t going to get above freezing all day) I plumped for boots instead.

Last night we watched Top Gear and then an episode of Lost. I decided to give my eyes a break from screens (other than the TV) and so I did some French knitting at the same time.

  1. I love both your new pairs of glasses - they're a fabulous choice and really suit you. I am very shortsighted (-9 both eyes) and am looking for similar frames to hide my lenses and yours seem like a good choice. Could you do some more close ups of the frames from different angles please and also give make and model numbers? Many thanks and keep up the good work as a flag-bearer for all us girls in glasses!

  2. Great skirt- don't remember seeing it before? Seems both work & evening event appropriate!

  3. Thank you. It was bought back in October when I was in York with my sister. I thought I would wear it over Christmas (it is quite eveningy as you say) but I just never did. It's so lovely though that it was a crime to keep in in my wardrobe with the tags on so I brought it out yesterday and I'll be wearing it again soon.

  4. What a great idea for a post! Thank you for suggesting it. I'll get some better pictures of the frames and put something together as soon as I can. I had my lenses thinned down and they are pretty well hidden in these frames, less so in the other pair as the frames are metal and therefore thinner.
