Bank Holiday Weekend Recap

Sunday we had a friend coming to visit in the afternoon so I spent the morning cleaning the house and the young man did some gardening. I also baked some scones which we ate when our friend came over and they were delicious. It was warm and sunny again so we had a barbeque in the garden at tea time.

Bank Holiday Mondays are usually a good time to stay off the roads, but we decided to head out to Dalby Forest in North Yorkshire. We managed to miss the traffic and stopped off in Thornton le Dale where we bought some lunch in a bakery. We took it into Dalby Forest and enjoyed a picnic at one of the lookout points. Here’s the view across the valley:

We had a walk in the woods and then drove up to Whitby (yes, again, we love that place) on the back roads. We had a walk up the 199 steps to the churchyard and sat on a bench enjoying the view. Everything up there is now a little closer to the cliff edge than it was due to a recent landslip.

We set off home across the moors and stopped at the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge for tea.

I only had time to snap a quick selfie of my outfit, but I was wearing those LTS jeans again, with my Converse.

Navy sweater – Long Tall Sally (eBay)
Turquoise top – Long Tall Sally
Jeans – Long Tall Sally
Converse – c/o Sarenza
Turquoise necklace – Dorothy Perkins
