Outfit: June 19th – Hot Hot Hot
The weather that is! And it was that way the whole weekend too which is pretty much unheard of around these parts. This past weekend was the Great Get Together in memory of MP Jo Cox so Saturday morning I went up to my local church and helped out with a Fun Day there. I was stationed in the garden so I got to enjoy the sunshine which was hot even at 10 in the morning. Around lunchtime I headed over to my home town to meet my sister to watch the carnival and then we spent the afternoon at the field where the procession ends up and there are fairground rides and stalls and things. Sunday we went to the coast, to Whitby and Saltburn, which was the perfect way to spend such a lovely day.
The temperatures this day hit 27˚C which is hot for here. If I could have worn shorts to work I would have done, but I thought a dress was a better option and changed into my shorts when I got home.

Outfit: June 16th – Jacket On Repeat
Yes, this is the same jacket that I wore in my previous post, and yes, I did wear it the very next day. I used to pick my outfits carefully, thinking that I can’t wear such and such item again because it appeared on the blog yesterday, or twice already this week. But you know what? This is real life and in real life if you love an item you wear it three days straight. Or even every day for a whole week. And it doesn’t matter. So I wore my striped blazer again this day (and that made it three days out of five that week that I wore a striped blazer – albeit a different one the first day) and it was a great little outfit for a Friday. Until I spilled yoghurt on my jeans at lunchtime, but that’s another story…

Outfit: June 15th – Stripes x Stripes x Spots
I almost went for stripes cubed today, by adding in my striped shoes but I switched them out for the polka dot ones as I thought that it might be a little too much stripes. (Is that a thing? Can you have too many stripes?)
It got warm out all of a sudden (and it’s mid-June, so it should!) so I ditched the tights in an attempt to get some colour into my legs. I feel like the fake tan or Sally Hansen leg spray stuff will be coming out before the weekend though. As my skirt is a little on the short side I balanced it out with some sleeves and brought along a jacket in case I got chilly.

Outfit: June 13th – Army Green and Stripes
Another day, another jersey blazer. I know I keep banging on about it, but these things are just so easy to wear, especially at this time of year when the weather may be a little warmer and you don’t want to be thrussen in a formal blazer but you still want to look smart. (Not here though. Here the weather is much of a muchness and hasn’t been particularly warm or sunny.) Paired with a t shirt dress you have an easy smart casual outfit that will work for the office, shopping, weekending, whatever you want to do in it.

Outfit: June 12th – Monday Uniform?
If you read my June 5th post immediately followed by this one, you would be forgiven for thinking that I have some kind of Monday uniform thing going on. Jersey blazer, stripe top, coloured pants. I really don’t, I swear! I think it’s just an easy way of easing myself back into the work week after a weekend of wearing jeans. And stripes. And a jersey blazer (well, I did that the day before these photos, I don’t do it every weekend).

Outfit: June 8th – Election Day
Polling day in the UK dawned wet and rainy (just for a change) and so out came the boots again as I knew I’d have to walk to the village at some point to vote. As it happened it fined up at dinnertime so I took the opportunity to go then, in case it was belting down again by 5pm. Of course 5pm came and it was sunny, but you can’t win them all.

Outfit: June 7th – Burgundy, Black and Tan
After two days the rain finally let up and we got a day of sunshine, even if it was a bit chilly for June. Long sleeve t shirts are the perfect thing for cooler summer days and this one from Boohoo’s Tall range (which I reviewed here) is that little bit different thanks to its swing shape. You can always layer up with a jacket if you’re still not warm enough, which is exactly what I did because, well, nesh. And, as if to prove that, by dinnertime I was regretting not having put a cami or something underneath it (not that you would think you would need one, it’s June for goodness sake!) as I was finding the swing shape to be distinctly draughty!

Outfit: June 6th – Boots In June
I should not need to be wearing boots in June. But when the forecast is for heavy rain all day and you walk to work, what’s a girl to do? Put on her boots and rain mac, that’s what. The high was just 13˚C this day and I was tempted to put on my longer, thicker burgundy cardi but I decided to save that outfit for the fall and went with the crop sleeved one to at least look a little more spring-summer.
