Outfit: August 15th – Cardigan Obsessed
I am currently obsessed with this cardi, hence the wearing of it two days in a row. It’s a pure cotton knit so is perfect for this time of year if it’s not quite warm enough out for short sleeves. And Primark have reduced the price of their cotton cardis to just £5.50. I got a navy one too, to replace my very well warn, faded-from-too-much-washing Next cardi. When you keep passing over something in your wardrobe because it looks too scruffy it’s time to replace it.
Can I pass off the dust on my mirror as some sort of cool new Instagram filter? No? I’d like to say it’s fairy dust but yeah, no, it’s just regular dust. Note to self: clean the mirror!

Outfit: August 14th – Dress and Cardi
I did not cycle to work in this outfit: after doing 26.5 miles on my bike the previous day I needed a rest! And cycling rather restricts your outfit choices – you can’t really wear a dress like this for a start. I’m sure I will be back on my bike later in the week though, if only for the reduction in time it takes me to get home.

Outfit: August 12th – Chilled Out Saturday
This was my outfit from a couple of Saturdays ago. I did some washing in the morning and headed into town in the afternoon for a wander around. On the way back I did the supermarket shopping – living the dream people, living the dream. It was quite warm and sunny, so even though I’d put my navy jersey biker jacket over this, it was ditched halfway around Primark.

Outfit: August 11th – In The Tall Zone
I am in a tall clothing buy/sell group on Facebook and this jacket was purchased on there for just £5 (which included postage so was a total bargain). It’s from Long Tall Sally’s long defunct Tall Zone range (any tall ladies out there remember that?!) which was a range LTS ran for a few seasons around 2000-2002, aimed at the younger market I think. I remember having a pair of flared jeans with sequins on the leg from Tall Zone. The jacket is therefore old but thanks to LTS’s quality, still in really good condition. It’s a sort of grey/brown colour (the label says chocolate but I say it depends on the light as to whether it’s grey or brown…) and is made of cotton but fully lined. I ignored the dry clean only instruction and put it through my washing machine on a gentle cycle and it came out fine.
The top is also LTS, but I added the appliques to cover a grease stain I managed to get on the front of it. Go me…

Outfit: August 10th – On Your Bike
I cycled to work in this outfit. My commute is less than a 10 minute walk, so I don’t really need to cycle, but my bike was all set up and I just fancied it for a change. I had to choose my outfit carefully: pockets in the trousers for my keys and phone if I popped home at dinnertime, a stretchy blazer that I could move freely in, and shoes that were attached to my feet. It’s uphill all the way to work but downhill all the way back, so cycling has its benefits as I can get home in about three minutes.

Outfit: August 9th – Pale Colours
I haven’t worn these pants as much as I thought I would this summer. Still, if the rain holds off there’s still a good few weeks left to wear them (lighter coloured pants and rain don’t mix, and August has been a bit of a wash out so far).
Can you tell I’m obsessed with this scarf? It’s so soft, and even though it isn’t really chilly enough in the mornings for it yet, it’s hard to resist putting it on as it seems to go with most things. I even used it as an actual blanket when we were staying at my aunt’s caravan a couple of weekends ago as it’s massive too.

Outfit: August 8th – Wet and Rainy
Posting is likely to be a bit sparser than usual for the rest of the month as it’s holiday time and that means I’m not always able to take photos. I’m still working in between though (who else misses the long school summer holidays?!) so there will be some posts, just not as many as usual.
This day was wet and rainy, and not overly warm for August so out came a sweater and the big check scarf from last week, though I didn’t get a picture of it.

Outfit: August 3rd – Scarf in August
Having been cold in the office the following day I decided to put a big cosy scarf over my summer dress ‘just in case’. I was going to wear ankle boots as rain was forecast but they didn’t look quite right so I switched them out for shoes.
The scarf is super soft and it’s huge, so I can see it getting a lot of wear this autumn and winter. And the rest of August tbh, if the weather doesn’t improve!

Outfit: August 2nd – Stripes and Green
This was a comfy, casual outfit for a busy day at work. I put my black blazer over this to smarten it up a bit and was glad I did because despite it being August, my office was a bit chilly at times. It was time to retire these pumps when I got home, the soles were cracked and wouldn’t survive another wearing. For just £3.50 I can’t really complain though.
