Outfit: February 16th - Boots and Blazer
In keeping with my being over winter theme, I ditched the sweaters for casual Friday and wore a blazer with my jeans instead. With the long sleeve t shirt and the over knee boots I was plenty warm enough. Layering for the win!

Outfit: February 15th – Black Cashmere, Burgundy Pants
I am so over winter now. Can we just have some warm(er) weather please? At least there was sunshine the day I wore this outfit. I was going to go tan boots with this, but I wear tan boots with everything so I went for this fab studded grey pair instead.

Outfit: February 14th – Outerwear As Innerwear
Is it stripes week this week? It could be. Though with me, part of every week is stripes week as I have a lot of striped clothing.
I feel like I don’t wear my moto jackets enough, and when I do I take them off as soon as I get anywhere. So I wore this one instead of a blazer this day. It’s a fairly lightweight jacket and the sleeves have a stretchy panel in them so it’s super comfortable to wear all day. Oh, and it was Valentine’s Day so I put on my heart earrings as a nod to the – I want to say holiday like the Americans do, but it isn’t a holiday at all, it’s just a day, so – as a nod to the day.

Leather Earrings at Nickel and Suede
NB: This post is not sponsored (I WISH it was!), I just really like the earrings.
I am a big fan of big earrings right now, but I often find that earrings made of metal can be heavy. So when I came across massive earrings made of leather I thought what a genius idea! I think I first saw the earrings on Audrey of Putting Me Together (my favourite blog right now, by the way) who had been gifted a couple of pairs because she shared a room with Kilee of One Little Momma at a blogging conference. Kilee is also the brains behind Nickel and Suede (and her blog is awesome too – go check it out!).
I wanted a pair of the earrings but I have been stung by shipping and customs charges from the US to the UK before, and on top of the cost of the actual earrings themselves I decided to look around for an alternative in the UK. Now, it turns out that no one in the UK makes anything remotely similar so I decided to just suck it up and buy the originals. I order two pairs (the London Tan Cut-Outs and the Silver Signature earrings, both in size Large. I’m glad I did go for two pairs because I was stung for customs charges, plus an £8 fee from our friends at Royal Fail, just for them processing and holding my mail (I thought that was your job, Royal Fail?).
They are super lightweight to wear and the London Tan pair especially go with absolutely everything. They have had a LOT of wear since I got them.
So I would definitely recommend purchasing if you are in the US (and sometimes there are discounts and promotions available too) but unless I am feeling particularly flush I won’t be purchasing any more pairs (although I do have a birthday coming up, and I think the leopard print pair are especially awesome so you never know…).

Outfit: February 13th – Pre-Spring Layers
Around this time of year I get incredibly bored of winter and the cold weather. See my last post’s comment about the snow and wanting it to go away if you don’t believe me. Spring looks are everywhere on the internet and in the stores and it’s still far too cold to start wearing them! So today I went for a little nod towards spring with my navy and cream stripes. I love stripes in the spring (I love them anytime, let’s be real), as they just feel so fresh. So layers for warmth, stripes for spring and a burgundy cord skirt and boots because it’s still cold out.

Outfit: February 12th – Stripes, Burgundy and a Change of Boots
So when I got up this Monday morning I had to rethink my choice of boots for walking to work. Because, yeah, this:
There was nothing the previous evening and though the forecast was for light snow showers the last few times they’ve said that it either hasn’t snowed at all, or it has snowed but not settled so I saw the forecast and thought, “yeah, whatever” and forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when I opened the curtains… My first thought when I saw it was that it had better be gone by tea time as I want to go for a run. I mean, who even am I?! I love the snow! I don’t usually want it to go away. But when it’s messing with my Couch to 5K training programme? Gah!
I contemplated driving to work but clearing the snow off my car seemed like more effort than just walking in it. So I put on my trusty EMU boots, stashed the ankle boots in my bag, and set off in my big coat.

Outfit: February 9th – Blue and Army Green
Just a quick snap today as I was busy putting washing on, making lunches and hanging sheets to dry before I left for work. I love the combination of blue and army green, be that a mid-blue like I’m wear here or a full-on navy. It just works. Ditto tan boots. I’ve said it before: they go with EVERYTHING.

Outfit: February 8th – Work to Play
It’s still February, it’s still cold out. The day I wore this I was off out after work, to the theatre (read: Town Hall) to see Pirates of Penzance. So I wanted an outfit that would work for the office and also for the evening. This is where a dark denim skirt is useful. It’s the epitome of smart/casual dressing. It’s a skirt and it’s a dark colour so it’s smart. But it’s also denim so it’s casual.

Outfit: February 7th – Striped Blazer and Army Green
It was a chilly minus 4˚C outside the morning I wore this, so needless to say I did not walk to work in these shoes. That’s what ugg boots are for. I don’t mind occasionally stashing a pair of shoes in my bag to change into, as long as they are lightweight. When you’re walking uphill you don’t want to be carrying any more weight than you need to.

Outfit: February 6th – Stripes, Denim and Sheepskin
We got snow! (Only a teensy bit, but still, snow!) So it was on with the EMU boots to walk to work, just in case the snow amounted to anything significant. (Spoiler alert: it didn’t.) It was also on with the fleece/velvet lined leggings for warmth. And the cashmere. All the cosy.
