Outfit: Dressember #8
Here it is, as promised! My Dressember entry for today. I went out to meet my sister at a shopping centre about halfway between our houses. We had a wander round, picked up a few bits and pieces – hairspray, Christmas decs, etc and had a drink in the cafĂ©. It was a nice way to get out for a bit but not be back late. I am tempted to wear this dress tomorrow but will endeavour to pick something else out for variety. This elastic belt is great though – it cinches you in but is totally comfy at the same time.

Outfit: Pants!
Don’t worry, I have reneged on Dressember only 8 days in. I’m going to wear a dress later on today. I just fancied a change and so went for pants. It’s still cold here and it’s still snowy, although much of the snow has now melted down and re-frozen into big sheets of ice. Still, it could be worse – the high (yes, the HIGH) forecast for Perth in Scotland today is minus 14 centigrade.

Outfit: Dressember #7 and New Boots!
The snow has finally receded enough (where I need to walk today anyway) for me not to need my snow boots, the first time in 10 days. Mind you, this is only because I was parked on the drive at home and can park right outside the door at work. It was also the first time in I can’t remember how long that I did not have to scrape either ice or snow off my car. I’m not sure why my car wasn’t iced up as it was definitely below freezing this morning, but it definitely makes life easier not to have to scrape.
This is that grey dress I asked about removing the sleeves a couple of weeks ago. As you can see, the sleeves are now gone and I think it will be all the more versatile for the alteration.
The boots were a gift from Sarenza. Their high heel race took place in Paris over the weekend, and you can read all about it here.
Grey dress – Long Tall Sally
Black sweater – Long Tall Sally
Black tights – Tesco
Leopard print boots – Bocage at Sarenza (gifted)
Tan Obi belt – ASOS
Silver hoops – gifted

Cream bead bracelet (worn as ring) – Diamonds & Pearls

Outfit: Dressember #6 and a Cold and Frosty Morning
There are highs of minus 1 forecast for today and it took me ages to scrap my car as it was so cold this morning. The snow is receding a little and all the roads are fairly clear now (except for our estate which is a bit dicey still in places) so I’ve made it in to the office. I still had to carry my heels in a bag and wear my snow boots outside (there is still inches of snow in the garden) mind.
You can’t really tell from the pictures that this is a dress, but I promise you that it is. It’s this one, but with the straps attached:
I have my black polo neck under it and my black cardi over it so you can’t really tell what’s what.
Don’t forget that if you want to make a donation to Refuge in support of Dressember, you can do so here.

Outfit: Dressember #4 & #5 and a Snowy Walk
On Saturday I walked into the village and posted all my Christmas cards. I went back home and made some soup for dinner, cleaned the bathroom, vacced and set the table for some friends coming for to dinner. We all had soup and crusty bread, followed by some flapjack I made last week. Then we got togged up and headed out into the snow. We walked to a local park and cut through there to get onto a footpath that would take us to a nearby pub. The snow was quite deep in places and it was all uphill, so it was great exercise. We had a couple of drinks in the pub, then headed for the retail park to one of the large chain restaurants and had some food. On the walk home we took a detour into an old golf course and found the remnants of other people’s sledges to have a go on down the hill.
I have no pictures from yesterday, but I wore a black sweater dress over a black polo neck and jeans with the same black belt as Saturday. With my leopard print slippers again.

Leopard print slipper boots – George at ASDA

Outfit: Dressember #3 and an Escape From the House!
I made it in to the office today! There was no more snow overnight and there is no more forecast for today, so I braved the ice (highs of minus 3 anyone?) and set off to work.
Yes I am wearing the same boots as yesterday but as I didn’t actually wear them yesterday, it doesn’t really count. Also, they are keeping my knees warm!
I have wrapped up warm – knee high socks under the boots again and am beginning to think that dresses and tights/leggings with socks are just as warm as trousers. Plus, I can get my wellies on easily and I don’t have wet jeans to deal with.
Black knitted dress – Long Tall Sally
Teal sweater – Long Tall Sally
Black OTK boots – Priceless Shoes
Silver snowflake earrings – Funky Junk Jewellery
Teal belt – Claire’s
Total Est. Cost £104

Outfit: Dressember #2 and It’s Still Snowy
Once again we have had more snow and once again I am working from home and not actually wearing the boots pictured. I am in the dress though. Layered underneath the sweater is a thermal top, and I have knee high socks under the boots. So although this is a lighter weight cotton dress, I’m not actually that cold. There is more snow forecast for today but it hasn’t arrived as yet.
I would usually wear these boots with a shorter skirt, but I have seen Amber wearing a similar pair with a longer length skirt recently and liked the look, so decided to go with it today. If only I was actually wearing the boots though...
I will leave you with some shots of the snow in my back garden. The drive was cleared on Tuesday so all the snow on it now fell yesterday and last night.
Navy dress – Next
Blue and black stripe sweater – New Look Tall
Black leggings – New Look Tall
Black OTK boots – Priceless Shoes
Black belt – free with a shirt
Black & silver scarf – Mint Velvet (gifted)
Blue and silver earrings – Etsy

Outfit: Dressember #1 and a Casual Start
Remember how I said on Saturday that this dress was the warmest item I own? Well would it be cheating to just wear this all month? Yes? Well you’re likely to see it quite a few times if the snow keeps up. I am once again working from home. I got as far as scraping my car this morning when my neighbour came round the corner and said she was stuck on ice trying to get up the hill to get off the estate. I enlisted the help of the young man (and a chap down the road came out to help too) and we managed to get the car back onto her drive. The young man has got out OK (well, he’s not come back yet anyway) but I decided that as I can work from home it was silly to try to get out. Especially as practically everyone else who lives on the estate leaves their cars parked on the flat bit at the top of the hill making that road very narrow and increasing the likelihood of hitting something when it’s icy.
So here I am, at my kitchen table wrapped up in my cosy dress and debating whether to put the heating on, or do some washing and put the dryer on to warm up later on. And once again I am not wearing the boots that are pictured, but my furry slipper boots. I have a top under my dress (I feel the thermals may be coming out tomorrow) and knee high socks are hiding under the boots (that I’m not wearing). I have quite a supply of knitted dresses so even if it does stay cold and snowy I should be OK.
We are now using Dressember to raise some money for Refuge so if you would like to donate, please do so here. And it’s not too late to join in! The details are all here on our Facebook page.
