Outfit: Unseasonal Friday
It is October tomorrow and they are forecasting highs of 26°C for today and 27°C for tomorrow. What is going on? Not that I’m complaining really – after the poor summer we had here it’s nice to get a bit of warm weather, even if it is the middle of autumn.
Last night I did the Tesco shop, made tea and sorted out the spare room. I went to choir practice and it was most bizarre singing Christmas carols when the building thermometer I’d just passed read 22°C even though it was dark outside.
This evening I need to earn myself some Activity Points by playing Just Dance on the Wii, and perhaps doing a bit of boxing on Wii Sports. I have a walk planned too.
I was going to give my insane red wedges another outing today, but as it’s Friday I decided flats were more casual so went with those instead. I am glad I could get this skirt out again though.

Outfit: Sunny Thursday
The BBC local weather forecast last night promised highs of 27°C today, so I dressed accordingly. It is strange dressing for warm weather when it isn’t properly light outside in the morning. The ‘heatwave’ looks set to last until Monday, and then we’re back to regularly scheduled temperatures from Tuesday.
Last night I went for a walk when I got home – I needed to make up my points deficit for WW. I made tea and then had half an hour on the Wii, playing on Just Dance 2 which is awesome. I caught up with Gok from Tuesday night, and then my friend S phoned so I spent about 45 minutes talking to her. By which time it was going up to 10pm and time to think about bed.
Today is Tesco shop day, and then I have choir practice at church. I also have to find time to make up the spare bed as the young man has a mate coming to stay over tomorrow night. Wish me luck fitting it all in!

Outfit: Neutral Layers
As it is set to be very warm again today, I went with bare legs and a t shirt. The colours in the skirt, the cardi and the booties are all a nod to the fact that it is still the end of September, despite the temperature.
Last night I stopped in at Boots to get a gift for my friend, then headed home to fix up my pedicure as I was intending getting my toes out again today and tomorrow. I had let all my polish chip as I thought I would be in boots until about next March.
I walked up to the young man’s parents’ house for tea, which was delicious as it always is there. I had a meeting at 8.30pm so we headed home in time for me to gather my things and get to that. I didn’t get home until around 11pm so it was a bit of a late night for me.
Today I need to earn some activity points as I have managed to get myself into minus figures due to eating out last night, and eating the homemade bread I made over the course of the week. Oops. I have plans to spend some time with the Wii doing the Just Dance game, and to have a walk too. I’m not far over – just 4 points – so they should be fairly easily regained.
I don't really like how my hair photographed today in the full length shots. It is third day (and will be washed tonight) and I used the XXL Batiste Dry Shampoo on it, only not as much as Sunday as I didn't want it too huge. I think I should have used a little more though, as it is sort of hanging funny.

Found: A Picture From Saturday
When I said I had no shots from Saturday, I forgot that my brother in law took a picture of my sister and me on our bikes. So here you go: attractive – but necessary – helmets and all!
Outfit: Brown, Blue and a Touch of Leopard
These cord trousers were an eBay buy a couple of weeks back. I love cords in the winter as an alternative to jeans and only had a black pair, so when I saw these LTS ones I bid on them. And for the bargain price of £7.28 I won. It is set to be warm today – and even warmer towards the end of the week. I am thinking bare legs may be back tomorrow, and I will have to sort out my pedicure so I can wear open shoes again (I thought it would be boots from here on in).
Tonight we are going for tea at the young man’s parents’ and then I have to dash off to a meeting. Last night I stewed some apples for my morning porridge (that’s my favourite breakfast at the moment – porridge made with half milk and half water, with half a teaspoon of brown sugar and cold stewed apples added. I went to the gym too and we had to attempt to knee on a fitball and balance. Cue lots of laughter as people fell off them left, right and centre.
I chose these shoes today as I know I can walk distances in them. That’s the trouble with wearing trousers – if you want to switch to flats to walk somewhere, and your trousers are hemmed for heels, you are a bit stuck.

Outfit: Mono-Blocking Monday
So apparently there is supposed to be a mini-heatwave at the end of this week. They are forecasting highs of 25°C at present for Thursday and Friday. I will believe it when I see it! But if I can get in one last wearing of my tan wedges I won’t be complaining. Although it does seem insane to be thinking that I could get those out again having been in boots and tights for the past few weeks. Ah the British weather.
Tonight is my gym class and I am actually quite looking forward to it. I didn’t particularly indulge over the weekend, and I did all that cycling on Saturday, but I made potato wedges with the pizza last night (although I only had a tiny portion and the young man nicked some of mine) but I feel ready for some toning exercises. Wow, is this really me talking?! It’s lovely out today so I hope to get in a walk at some point too.
This week is filling up fast – I have a meeting tomorrow and choir practice on Thursday (which means no boxing – I’ll have to try to fit in something else instead), then the young man’s mate is stopping over on Friday as they are going for a boys’ night out.

Outfit: Sunday and A Weekend Recap
So this is what I wore today, but let me tell you about what I did this weekend too. Friday night I cleaned the kitchen and vacced, and then we went for drinks at the local club. I had about five minutes warning that we were going out, so no outfit pictures.
Yesterday we went over to my sister’s house and we all went cycling. We stopped at a pub for lunch, and then headed along the canal tow path. We ended up at the five rise locks at Bingley and had tea and cake in the cafe there. By the time we had cycled back to my sister’s house we had done 24.5 miles. I was just in jeans and a hoodie so no pictures from then either.
Today I got up in reasonable time and went to church. I made soup for my lunch as there was part of a butternut squash in the fridge that needed using up. There’s enough left for my dinner tomorrow too. I had a lazy afternoon reading magazines, but I did manage to clean the bathroom, vac upstairs and do the ironing too.
I made pizza for tea, and this evening we are watching Picture Perfect on TV.
As my hair hadn’t been washed since Thursday night, I used some dry shampoo on it this morning, and decided to try the new Batiste XXL one that I bought in Boots last week. As you can see, it certainly added plenty of volume to my hair. I’ll do a proper review of it soon.

Outfit: Cosy Friday
I don’t think it’s even to be that chilly today, but I’ve put on some cosy layers as it’s getting increasingly nippy on a morning now. This is the cardi I bought when I was in Newcastle the other week. It is just as cosy as I thought it would be. I also added the scarf my friend Erin knitted for me a couple of Christmases ago. The jeans are new too, the last of my smaller sized pairs. They replaced my beloved skinny kick flares from River Island that were all baggy around the front.
Last night was Boxercise and I was worried I had hurt my wrist, but I think it’s OK this morning. I also parcelled up another eBay sale which I need to post today. I have no plans for this evening. We might be going cycling tomorrow with my sister and her husband (I could certainly use the activity points) and I have no plans for Sunday as yet.
I used a new shampoo and conditioner on my hair last night. I think I like it, but I will do a full review when I've used it a few more times.
