So, last night didn’t pan out quite as planned. A white van went into the back of my car on the way home so I had to spend some time sorting out my insurance and arranging to get my car fixed. I am fine (so far, anyway) but my car’s back door is dented where the spare tyre has been pushed into it. It’ll be two weeks before my car can be repaired so fortunately it is drivable in the meantime. I also realised I had left the meat for tea in the work fridge, so I had to pop to the butcher’s in the village and get some more. We will be having chicken for tea again tonight.

After all that, I was in no mood for the gym (and I thought I should take it easy anyway) so I spent the evening checking out the options for new cars in case mine is written off (a possibility if it needs a new back door), drinking tea and generally chilling. I’ve booked in for a gym class tonight so that will make up for last night.

I got this skirt on Sunday in River Island. I sold my other navy pencil skirt recently as it was too big, so this is kind of a replacement for that. And well, I just loved the stripes too. A cosy sweater was definitely the way to go as there’s still snow and ice lingering on the ground outside. The scarf was hand knitted by my friend Erin who gave it to me for Christmas two years ago. It’s an infinity one that just wraps around and around your neck and is so cosy.

Navy and cream stripe skirt – River Island
Blue wool sweater – M&S menswear (charity shop)
Navy top (under the sweater) – H&M
Blue scarf – gifted
Navy tights – Tesco
Blue/black ring – charity shop
Silver hoops – gifted
Taupe patent shoes – LK Bennett (c/o Sarenza)

Total Est. Cost £42

  1. Oh my goodness, Fi - I was just about to comment saying how much I liked the skirt, then I read the text! Glad to hear you're OK, but sorry to hear about what happened - I had a bump in December and although it was luckily as minor a bump as it's possible to get, I was still really shaken by it, so can imagine how you must've felt. Hope everything gets sorted out soon. x

  2. Love the skirt, the design is unusual & very flattering on you. Hope that your car repairs are hassle free.

  3. That's awful about your accident! I live in fear of car accidents and can only imagine how upsetting that must have been. I'm glad you seem to be doing okay. And I just love that skirt - very sharp!
