Outfit: Friday By The Sea
No outfit pic from Thursday as I was just in jeans and a sweater all day. I went to do the Tesco shop in the morning but ended up going to Asda and Morrison’s on the hunt for dried polenta (Morrison’s stock it if you’re looking for it) which I needed for the crispy chicken recipe I had planned for tea.
We were just sitting in the conservatory after lunch with a cup of tea when the young man’s mum called round on her way to the hairdressers. She had a quick cuppa and then went to her appointment.
I baked a cake whilst the young man washed his car, then I washed my car whilst the young man polished his.
The cake was the same recipe as the chocolate one I’ve been making recently but this time I omitted the cocoa powder and put chopped apples in it instead. It doesn’t taste as sweet but I think if I put some chocolate Philly on the top it will be OK.
Yesterday we had a trip out to Whitby. We parked on the West Cliff and walked along the cliff top to find some lunch. We went to our favourite tea rooms for toasted sandwiches, which were delicious. We had a wander around the town and went up the 199 steps to the parish church. We walked back along the beach and then up one of the paths that zig zags up the cliff.
We decided to drive back over Blakey Ridge and call at the Lion pub for a drink. It was pretty cold up on the tops and there were still plenty of patches of snow around, even though it is well over a week since it snowed. It was a lovely drive home as the sun was going down.
