Outfit: Stripes, Leopard and a Neutral Pallet
This dress tends to get neglected in my wardrobe and I don’t really know why. It’s a lovely sensible length (River Island had it marked as a maxi dress when I bought it – erm, on who?!), the sleeves are fabulously long (especially for a non-Tall item) and it’s stripy. I had written down to wear nude shoes with this, but the forecast for today was to be cooler and windy with showers (and it turned out to be correct) so I went with the nude shoes that have the black toe caps.
Last night when I got home I made some bread in my bread maker. I don’t think I had appreciated quite how long it would take – the basic programme for a small loaf is 3 hours 10 minutes. There is a setting that takes 50 minutes, and one that takes 80 minutes but it says the results aren’t as good with that. However, I’d started early so there was plenty of time to just let it run. The loaf wasn’t bad for a first attempt. It didn’t rise properly at one side but it tastes good and that’s what counts, right?
After tea I went to Aldi to do the shopping and then came home and we watched Lost. It was the penultimate episode of season 5 so we’re getting there.

If your bread is not rising properly try different bread flour. Some is quite poor quality.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I didn't know that. I've made bread with that flour successfully before, but in the oven, not a machine. It's just Tesco's strong white bread flour that I used.
ReplyDeleteTry it again it might be fine.
ReplyDeleteYou can get bad batches of flour.
I like how you've been accessorizing with scarves. The infinity scarves you made were also creative .
ReplyDeleteI will do. I was thinking it could have just been that it was the first time the bread machine had been used and it needed a run before it gets things exactly right. The bread tastes great though, so I suppose that's what really matters.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love scarves, I wear them all the time - partly because I'm cold all the time, but partly because they just give an outfit a little extra something.
ReplyDeleteFound your blog a while ago and love your outfit photos. What's your secret to finding tall stuff on Ebay...I struggle just in normal shops (am 6.1'') and you seem to make great finds online. :-) Any tips?
ReplyDeleteHi there! Thanks for stopping by! 6'1" must be tough for shopping, I struggle at 5'11". On eBay I usually search for tall 12 and then narrow down the brands to those I know are actually tall: LTS, Topshop, Next. Sometimes I just search Long Tall Sally items as I know they will fit. There's a good secondhand market for tall items as they tend to be expensive to start with. I'm actually putting together a post on this so stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips, I'll try those out. :-)
