Outfit: Trench Coat, Stripes, Red Pants and Converse
Tuesday my sister and I had a day out in York as the final part of my birthday celebrations. We have a little tradition of taking each other to Betty’s Tea Rooms for our birthdays and I like to go for afternoon tea.
It was lovely and sunny on Tuesday, if a little windy. I picked my sister and niece up and we went to our parents’ to drop off Little Miss M. She’s too tiny for a day out of shopping yet and, to quote Miranda in SATC: “Mommy needs two hands to eat her $8 cake.”. We headed off to York and caught the Park and Ride bus in.
We stopped off for a cup of tea and sustenance (pikelets and croissants) and then had a wander around the shops. We went to Bettys around 3.45pm and Tuesday was evidently a good day to go as there was no queue (the queue goes outside and around the corner on weekends). The tea and cakes were delicious and my sister was particularly excited to try a macaroon as she’d not had one before.
We did a little more shopping then headed home.
