On Wednesday morning we headed off to the coast. We went to Whitby and had a walk along the beach, then up the steps to the Abbey where there has been a bit of a landslide over the winter. We went back down to the town and to our favourite tea rooms or tuna melts.
After lunch we wandered round the town a bit, then back up onto the West Cliff to where we had parked. We drove a bit further north to a little place called Kettleness and parked up on the cliff top. We had a walk along what is left of the cliff path (the coastal erosion is pretty bad at that point) and poked about for some Whitby Jet but didn’t find any.
We stopped off at the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge on the way home, for giant Yorkshire puddings with gravy, and a plate of delicious homemade chips.
