Outfit: Navy and Red Stripes, Red Jeans, New Shoes
So it appears I have a problem with stripy tops. Do not even ask how many I have in my closet. I fully blame the purchase of this one on Jill of Good Life for Less. She was wearing what I thought was the same one a couple of weeks ago and I loved it instantly. She’d included a link as she’d just got it at F21, so I clicked through but of course the US site couldn’t talk to the British site and it couldn’t find the top. I did a search of striped tops, spied this one, and ordered (along with the scarf I have on today and a couple of other items but that’s another story, possibly for tomorrow. I like to have an exciting package waiting for me when I return to work after a holiday – it makes going back all the easier). However, when this top arrived it turned out to be a little different as Jill’s has buttons on the sleeves to roll them up, and has a looser fit. But it was the colourway I was drawn to really so I don’t mind at all. And doesn’t it go perfectly with the scarf? I saw this scarf and as I love my giant turquoise H&M one so much I thought this would be a good purchase. It’s quite a thin cotton which makes it perfect for warmer (but not that warm) weather.
This morning was grey and overcast when I got up, and before I left the house the rain, thunder and lightning started. When I got to work I managed to walk into a deeper-than-it-looked puddle in the car park and ended up emptying water out of my shoes. My new shoes. They are by Esprit and were the second part of my Sarenza voucher purchase this month. Fortunately they are not leather so I don’t think they’ll come to any harm after their early morning bath. Aren’t they pretty? I really like a pointed flat shoe – I think the pointed toe makes them dressier than an ordinary ballerina. And we all know how much I like metallic blue – just look at my blog header!
Last night, amongst other things, I went to do the supermarket shopping. I needed toothpaste and my preferred brand is Macleans. Can someone explain to me why it is that Tesco have 33 varieties of Colgate (yes, 33 – I counted), 10 varieties of Oral B but only 1 type of Macleans, and not the type I wanted? Are they sponsored by Colgate or something?
Finally, it turns out that the easiest way for me to get waves in my hair is for me to sleep on it wet. I kind of scrunch it up under my head and in the morning it is dry and wavy. True laziness.
