Outfit: Denim Jacket with Grey and Navy

This is yesterday’s outfit, but I didn’t get chance to post it as it was such a busy day! I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend as much as I did. It seems to have retreated for the time being but fingers crossed it will return for next weekend (another bank holiday in the UK!).

I knew I was going to be in one of the meeting rooms all day yesterday on a training course and I know that the room would either be freezing cold or boiling hot. I dressed in layers with my denim jacket, and stashed a cardi and a scarf in my bag. It turned out that it was boiling hot for much of the day (in the full sun and the air conditioning was broken) so the scarf was only needed as padding for the back of the super uncomfortable chairs.

This Week...

White chocolate.  It has suddenly become my preferred type of chocolate and I have no idea why.  I mean, I've always liked white chocolate but only in a sort of, hmm...it's OK, I'll eat it if that's all there is, kind of way.  But now, now I'm choosing it over milk chocolate and it's truly delicious.  I know white chocolate sometimes gets a bad rap and I know a lot of people find it sickly and just don't like it, but I am really enjoying it at the moment.

Outfit: Shoeper Challenge 2013/14 Save 73 | Blue and White

You can tell the better weather is here can’t you, as I’ve started saving shoes again. Most of the pairs I have left to save are summer shoes – either made of fabric or quite open and therefore not much cop in the rain. This particular pair falls into the fabric camp – they are by one of my favourite brands Georgia Rose, and they were purchased back in February with a voucher from the lovely people at Sarenza. They were then promptly put away ready for warmer and drier weather. I don’t own many floral items (and certainly not any more floral shoes) but every time I wear something floral I can hear Meryl Streep saying “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.”.

So it’s just a simple jeans and t shirt outfit for casual Friday, with a cosy cardi added as the mornings are still chilly and the office air conditioning is perpetually chilly (yes, we’ve reached the time of year where I constantly complain about the air conditioning – happy Friday folks!). A bling-y necklace and interesting shoes elevate it from being too boring I think.

Outfit: Shoeper Challenge 2013/14 Save 72 | Red Pants, Studded Top

I love this top. It’s studded without actually being studded, if you know what I mean. The studs are just stuck on so that the underside of the fabric is completely smooth – there’s no scratchy (or cold!) metal. Plus, a grey marl t shirt is always a wardrobe basic, the studs just give it a little something extra.


Red jeans are always a winner in my book too, especially when I can wear them to work. Blue denim is a no no in the week but coloured denim? Coloured denim is perfectly OK.

Something else that’s always a winner in my book? Silver shoes. I like flat shoes but sometimes they are a little bit flimsy. Not this pair though: these have proper sturdy shoes and the heel is built up a little bit, it’s not completely flat like a ballet pump. They are by JB Martin and were c/o Sarenza a few years back.

Outfit: Long Sleeved Dress

It is mid-May but it’s still a little chilly out at times. Today is one of those times. So a long sleeved dress seemed like a good option. Actually this dress is pretty much just a really long length long sleeved t shirt so it’s super comfortable to wear too. And look how long the sleeves are for a non-tall item!

This Week...

This week I have been enjoying Made In Chelsea.  I have been aware of its existence all the time that it has been around (we're on season 7 now, surely it can't have been around seven years?!) but I haven't watched it until this series.  It feels like guilty pleasure TV and I know it's a load of rubbish, but I just can't help it.  It's compelling viewing and I'm dying to know what is going to happen with Binky and Alex.  Speaking of Binky - I have major hair envy of that girl - how does she get it so big?

I've started watching back episodes on 4OD as they make great viewing whilst I'm ironing.  I fear I may be becoming addicted!

Outfit: Black and Blue – Jeans and a Jumper

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you’ve all had a good day. Who’s watching the Eurovision Song Contest then? I’m watching it as I write this and I am pleased to report that the standard of bonkers-ness is just as high this year as it usually is.

I put this outfit on this morning without really having any plans. As it turned out I ended up changing into skinny jeans and my walking boots as we went for a walk this afternoon to visit the young man’s aunty. She lives about five miles away from us so we had a good walk there and back – mostly in the rain. The backs of my jeans were wet through by the time we got home (not to mention the towels and sheets I’d left on the washing line) so a change of clothes and the chicken curry I made for tea were very welcome.

It seems strange to be back in sweaters in May, but the temperatures have dipped considerably in the last week or so, and we are being blessed (?) with torrential rain showers at alarming frequencies.

Today just felt like a sweatshirt and jeans kind of a day. I stayed neutral with my colours, and added my brown leather jacket and a really colourful scarf when I went out.

My sister came over and we took my niece to a soft play place, then went to the retail park and got Krispy Kremes. A good day all round!

Outfit: Stripes and Curls

It’s Wednesday already and I’m totally enjoying my week off. I’ve been spending a lot of time with my cute little niece who turns two in a couple of weeks and who is growing into a cheeky and adorable little girl. I’m also loving having the time to curl my hair and I have finally learned how to do eye make up properly. Well I thought it was about time after 35 years!

I never know which is the best way to take headshots with my phone. Sometimes I go for the classic selfie using the forward facing camera, and sometimes I use the main camera, focussing it with the viewfinder in the mirror. I find the light is better with the main camera but as I did both today ways today I’ve included both photos.

It turned cooler today and was rainy between the sunny spells so I put on my trusty black ankle boots. And somehow I’ve managed to make my legs look short in pretty much all my shots.

A Walk To The Park

On Saturday I went for a walk in the sunshine to my local park and I thought it would be fun to bring you along with me via photographs. It’s May Day bank holiday here in the UK today so I hope you are enjoying the long weekend if you’re getting one.
