Georgia Rose silver camo flats

When I picked out my purple jeans for today, I thought it would be fun to pair them with a purple top. The term monochrome is often used in the blogging world to describe a black and white outfit, but in actual fact it means an outfit comprised of any single colour.

I added a scarf which gives a bit of contrast with its blues and mustard tones. And then I added a pair of silver flats with a camouflage pattern on them. They have pointy toes and pointed toe flats are my favourite kind of flats. They are by Georgia Rose and were in the Sarenza sale so I got them with my brand ambassador voucher this month. I have been looking at them on the site for a long time, and considered them last year when I needed new silver flats, but ultimately decided a plain silver would be more practical. However, once they went in the sale I thought they would make a fun addition to my shoe collection.

Purple jeans – Long Tall Sally (eBay)
Silver camo print flats – Georgia Rose (Sarenza)

Georgia Rose Moletina red cowboy boots

It was another cold and frosty start this morning, with a bit of fog thrown in for good measure. It wasn’t icy but I had planned to wear flat boots anyway.

I added a leopard print scarf for some pattern mixing (and because it’s my only grey scarf) and it was only when I got to work that I realised my skirt and sweater were both from the Gap. The skirt is old – bought in the sale many, many years ago for about £15 which was a complete bargain as it is 74% wool. I wear it winter after winter and it has held up so well.

The sweater is cashmere and is a men’s size XS bought on eBay and fits me perfectly – the sleeve and body length is great for a tall girl.

M Par M wedge boots

There was a heavy frost this morning and as I hadn’t picked out any footwear to wear with today’s outfit, I reached for my boots with the sturdiest grip on the soles in case it was slippy.

I don’t wear this shirt as much as it deserves, bargain that it was. So I pulled it out today. I think it will go well with pale wash jeans too.

Navy polo neck – Long Tall Sally
Denim skirt – Long Tall Sally (eBay)
Navy fleece lined tights – Primark
Brown wedge boots – M Par M (c/o Sarenza)

Matalan teal

I keep reading how tartan is going to be big this spring, so I’m glad I held on to the tartan shirts I had from several years ago. I was trying to work out this morning when I bought this £8 Primark number, and I think it must be at least 2009, if not 2008. It’s a lovely soft brushed cotton so is really warm to wear and the length of the body is really good for a tall person like me.

I checked my shoe list and I see that I’ve already saved these teal wedges. I guess I have my favourite shoes and I stick to them! I think they’ve either stretched out or my feet have shrunk though, as they feel too big today. The only leather on them is the lining of the footbed so they shouldn’t have stretched out, but then my feet should shrink either!

I am excited it’s Friday today – I was just in a really good mood all day. Have a great weekend everyone!

Another jeans and sweater outfit. Since the weather was forecast to be dry and not that cold I decided to wear some shoes again, rather than boots. This pair is already saved though.

Outfit: Shoeper Challenge 2013/14 Save 56 | Waterproof Shoes

Hunter mint flats

I have long thought that a pair of plastic or rubber flats, such as the Melissa Ultagirl ones, would be a good idea. However, I have also long suspected that the Melissa shoes would not fit me, given that their largest size is a 41/42 and the heels I had in that size were on the small side. So when I spotted these Hunter flats in the Sarenza sale last week, in a size 42, I decided to give them a try. Who even knew Hunter made shoes in addition to their famous wellies? They do though, and sandals too.

15-01-14b

I wore the shoes today as the forecast was for rain showers. They fit me lengthwise but they push down on the tops of my toes, weirdly. I hope this will ease up with a few wears as I really like the colour and the idea of waterproof shoes that won’t get ruined in a rain shower. I mean, your feet will still get wet in these as they’re cut quite low at the sides, but the shoes will survive intact.

15-01-14d

As these shoes are such a bright colour I paired them with a fairly neutral outfit and matchy accessories. I still love these striped pants as much as I did when I first got them. I’m just in a pants-wearing mood this week. Sometimes it’s skirts and dresses that I want to wear, other times it’s pants.

15-01-14

Technically I don’t need to include these shoes in the Shoeper Challenge as I received them after the challenge started. But in previous years I have included all new shoes so I’m doing the same this year. And it is called a challenge after all!

Charcoal and ecru stripe pants – Forever 21

Nine West Neola Brown

So wearing jeans on a Monday is pushing it, but on a Tuesday? Totally fine! Especially when said jeans just look like navy trousers. The stripes I wore yesterday just weren’t enough so I picked out more for today. This is the striped version of the bright blue sweater I wore at the weekend. I have it in red too, what of it?

14-01-14d

I felt very tall today. I mean, at 5’11” I feel tall most of the time, but on days when I wear long trousers and heels I feel even taller. I added the jacket for additional smartness and because I just wasn’t wearing enough Long Tall Sally already.

Navy jacket – Long Tall Sally (eBay)

Priceless Navy

Happy Monday y’all! January is almost halfway through now and it’s starting to get a little lighter in the mornings. I arrive at work around 7.30am and this morning the sky was starting to get light when I got out of the car.

I decided I needed some stripes in my life last night when I was planning my outfit. It’s been too long since I last wore them. This top from Forever 21 is practically a sweatshirt so it’s lovely to wear. I layered up with a polo neck, and a scarf that I got for Christmas. I really wanted to wear jeans with this but decided I would be pushing it to wear them on a Monday so went for a denim skirt instead.

Navy and cream stripe top – Forever 21

Denim skirt – Jasper Conran (Debenhams, 20% discount)

M Par M wedge boots

Sunday morning I was actually on Sunday school duty (as opposed to last week when it turned out I wasn’t on duty) so I went off to church. There was a frost in the morning and it was cold out for the first time in a few months. I’m hoping for snow this week, but I don’t think there is any in the forecast.

In the afternoon I cosied up by the fire with my laptop and my knitting, some tea and my favourite Spiced Orange Yankee Candle.

I saved the wedge boots I didn’t wear on Saturday. They were bought last winter with one of my Sarenza brand ambassador vouchers. They are by M Par M and are lovely and comfortable thanks to the big chunky wedge.

Grey cashmere sweater – Florence + Fred men’s (eBay)
Grey polo neck – Rive Island (sale)
Denim skirt – Jasper Conran (Debenhams, 20% discount)

Deichmann Graceland wedge boot

Saturday morning we took a walk and called in on the young man’s aunty en route. We ended up walking about five miles in all, and I was very proud that I managed it all in my wedge boots. I made some leek and potato soup for dinner and then headed out to track down some of the striped cushions I’d seen in ASDA Living on Friday.

I was going to save a pair of boots but switched to these comfy sheepskin lined ones for walking. I wore my bright blue sweater again, it’s my favourite one right now.
